About this class

Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to our active lifestyles. The practice itself is straightforward. We hold postures passively for longer periods of time, about 3 – 5 minutes, with attention to alignment before settling into the shape. As the muscles relax, the deeper connective tissues throughout the body are nourished, especially in the joints, to encourage a natural range of motion and enhanced vitality. In addition, the mind turns inward as we learn to observe our reactions to sensation without judgement. Yin Yoga influences the movement of chi (vital energy) supporting a peaceful and meditative nature. This practice is not restorative yet has the ability to create ease and harmony within.
