Payal started ClassPass in 2011 out of her love for dance, which she has been doing since the age of 3. Prior to founding ClassPass, Payal worked as a consultant at Bain & Company and in Warner Music Group’s Digital Strategy and Business Development Group. Payal also has a degree from MIT in Operations Research and Economics.
Fritz Lanman is the CEO of ClassPass and has been involved with the company since 2013 when he lead both the Seed and Series A financing. In addition to his role at ClassPass, he is an active angel investor as well as cofounder of both Doppler Labs and Verst. He founded Livestar (acquired by Pinterest) and was a seed investor in Square, Pinterest, Formlabs, Teespring, Getaround and several other companies.
CPO & CTO
Sam Hall is the Chief Product & Technology Officer of ClassPass, leading the engineering, product, and design teams. Previously he was the Vice President of Consumable Customer Experience at Amazon as the worldwide leader of product management, design, data analytics and engineering for cross-category products and programs, where he worked on initiatives that included Subscribe and Save, Coupons, and the overall customer experience for the consumables category. Prior to that he was the Vice President of Mobile, where he was responsible for mobile shopping apps for phones and tablets and all of Amazon's mobile websites worldwide.
Joanna Lord is CMO of ClassPass, leading customer growth, community development, lifecycle marketing and brand. Prior to that she was Vice President of Marketing at Porch, a leading consumer marketplace for homeowners, and Chief Marketing Officer of BigDoor, an enterprise software solution serving companies like Starbucks, CBS, and the NFL. She is a global keynote speaker and digital evangelist, as well as contributing author at Entrepreneur.com and MarketingLand.com. Joanna is a recognized thought-leader in digital marketing and startup mentor (TechStars, NEXT, UP Global, Startup Weekend). She was recently named Seattle's 40 Under 40.
Tom Aveston is the CFO of ClassPass, leading the financial planning & analysis, accounting, legal and HR functions. Previously he spent six years in Japan and Singapore establishing the Expedia business in Asia Pacific, where he ran the marketing and commercial functions. Prior to that, Tom spent several years at Microsoft in corporate strategy and business development. Tom began his career as a consultant for McKinsey & Company and holds a degree in Economics and History from the University of Oxford.
VP of Pricing & Inventory
Zach Apter is VP of Pricing and Inventory at ClassPass. Prior to joining ClassPass, Zach was the head of business and competitive strategy for Google's self-driving car project and Microsoft's global Corporate Strategy team. He has a fifteen year track record in consumer technology, including search, communications services, digital media and publishing, advertising, ecommerce / marketplaces, operating systems, business productivity services, and hardware. He holds a degree in Economics from Stanford and is the author of 8 patents pending in the area of online services.
VP of Operations & Partnerships
Michael Wolf is the VP Operations and Partnerships at ClassPass, overseeing the relationship between ClassPass and its over 8,500 partner studios. Michael is also the founder of Blazer Ventures, an angel investment fund focused on the nexus of online and offline commerce. Prior to ClassPass, Michael had operational roles at Visible World (acquired by Comcast), Obama for America, and Bain & Company. Michael holds a B.A. cum laude from Columbia University and an MBA with honors from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Head of People
Susan Loh is the Head of People at ClassPass. Prior, she was at Google as a tech recruiter, and later joined Yelp and Foursquare to scale their teams through multiple phases of high growth. Susan's experience spans recruiting and HR, with deep expertise in organizational design, performance management, compensation planning, and hiring. Susan recently joined Brighton Angel Partners as a strategic advisor and helps several early stage startups through their growth challenges.
