Hooray for Ava! One of the best instructors here. She seems to find a way to pack as much as possible in these 50min classes, especially when it comes to core work. Between opening plank work, round back, flat back + lower body curl, we covered almost 60 8-count sets, more than the norm. Only caveat was that our floor glute work today was pretzel, which I absolutely despise Bc it’s one of those positions that NEVER improves for 90% of students, including someone like me, who has tight hips from running + strength training / CrossFit. As a result, I feel as though I never get as much out of it as with other positions.

Challenging class but great workout. Would highly recommend for all class goers to attend classic barre classes prior to gain an understanding of movements. Would be difficult going into this more advanced class without having the basics down.

About this studio

Pure Barre is a collection of 45 and 50-minute total body workouts. At the core of our technique we use a thoughtful series of low impact, isometric movements that are designed to produce results. You'll use the ballet barre and other light equipment as you move through class, focusing on different areas of your body. Your muscles will shake. You'll get stronger with each class. And ultimately, you'll rise above who you were yesterday. Precise. Proud. Balanced. Passionate. Please be aware classes start on time and clients should arrive 15 minutes early. Doors will lock at the start of class. Socks are required. 646 484 5447

How to prepare

1. New students must arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, regardless of having been to other Pure Barres. 2. They cannot accommodate anyone who is more than 5 minutes late. 3. Pants, leggings/capris (no shorts, please) + socks are required. 4. Shoes and cell phones are not allowed in the studio. 5. Please let the instructor know of any injuries, if you are pregnant, or if you may need to modify exercises.

What is ClassPass?
