Re:form with Corianna
This instructor was all over the place. She didn’t give enough information in her cues, so many participants had to look around at the beginning of each exercise to figure out what was going on. She didn’t provide any mind-body connection cues. Just not what I’m looking for, though she seemed very nice and the class vibes were positive. If/when I return to Mighty, it will not be Corianna’s class.

About this studio

Come try a challenging group Pilates in a brand new, 2,000-square-foot studio in the Valley. Mighty Pilates incorporates the great foundations of Classical Pilates, while upping the intensity factor for an inspired, invigorating workout. They offer a huge schedule of classes – from Foundations classes for Pilates newbies to Power Pilates for fit Pilates gurus. They even have a TnT (Tighten & Tone) class to tone up without Pilates. Come try Mighty Moonlight for mellow, candlelit class or Happy Hour Pilates (rewarded with a champs toast after class!). Classes are taught by tough, dynamic instructors that clients in at all 3 locations - Sherman Oaks, SF and Santa Monica have rewarded with 5 stars. 818 913 1828

How to prepare

Wear comfortable workout clothes that you feel OK sweating in. You don’t have to wear shoes or socks, although you can wear grip socks if it is more comfortable. They have free electrolyte water so bring a bottle. They also have small towels and tea at the studio. They have cool lemon, lavender, eucalyptus towels for after class. They offer Foundations classes if you are new to Pilates. They ask that all client have taken at least 3 Pilates reformer classes or Privates before jumping into other classes.

How to get there

They have some free parking behind the building. Please only use the Mighty Pilates spots (do not park along the wall). Spots are limited so look for metered street parking. There's 2-hour free parking on neighborhood streets or you may be able to use the valet near Petit Trois at Woodman and Ventura Blvd. ($4.50 valet). The studio entrance is in the back or come in through the front door and check in at back office.
