About this studio

Barry’s is an hour-long cardio and strength-building workout designed to help your body burn up to 1,000 calories thanks to their carefully crafted program that is as effective as it is fun. Their clients spend 25-30 minutes running on the treadmill and 25-30 minutes doing strength training, broken into rounds.

How to prepare

Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class due to a new check in process. If you arrive with 3 minutes or less to class time, your reservation will be given to a stand by student. You will be randomly assigned a spot on the treadmill or the floor, however reservations booked on the treadmill may be moved to the floor at the studio's discretion. Thank you for your understanding. Please bring a water bottle or you can purchase one for $2.

Street parking is located directly in front of the studio which is $4 an hour. Newer equipment than Shred but an emphasis on seeing how fast you can go on a treadmill strikes me as an orthos dream.

Bret is one of the best instructors Ive had at any studio, period. His energy and positivity are infectious and his instruction is always there exactly when you need it. His genuine love of what he does and desire to create a feeling of team and community shines. Keep doing what youre doing, Brent & Barrys!

The workout itself was great and intense - it's def meant for people who already have form and want to push themselves further. HOWEVER, if you easily feel inferior, then stay away from the River North location. This place attracts crazy fit, crazy rich, and/or crazy beautiful people. Finally - Barry's makes the "run" a minimum of 7mph which IS an advance speed, so modify it as you see fit.

Instructor was rude and pretentious. Didnt help first timers. Didnt demonstrate any floor exercises but assumed everyone knew what they were doing.
