see all reviewsThe teacher was very attentive to help posture, which is soo important when you A. Feel lost or B. Don’t know that you are hurting your body. I also liked that between moments they collected things or put things besides you— so many other gyms would just tell you to grab this and that; more thought full moments.

Saraswati’s Yoga Joint is a yoga studio in Fairfield County, Connecticut with a mission…Kaia Complete
see all reviewsSaturday morning, Post Road East, late March. I drove down from New Haven with no particular loyalty to any studio, just ClassPass credits and a loose plan to hit the Bruce Museum in Greenwich afterward. Kaia Yoga's Westport location is upstairs in a strip mall, which you should know going in. The lobby is a cheerful pile of shoes under a bench, coats on a rolling rack, someone's leopard-print jacket claiming territory, and a "Beginnings" tote bag from Scarsdale spilling out of a fabric bin. A mini-split AC unit hums on the wall below a drop ceiling. It is not curated. It is not trying to be. Then you open the door to the practice room and the scale changes. The studio is enormous for the class size, maybe fifteen of us spread across a space that could hold forty. Morning sun was cutting long diagonals across gray plank floors. Dark blue mats had been pre-set with red bolsters and black blocks. Wicker baskets along the wall held stacked Mexican blankets in every color. There were water stains on a couple of the ceiling tiles, which I noticed only because I spent a fair amount of savasana staring up. None of it mattered once the class started. Claudia Zeller taught the 9 AM "Kaia Complete," a 75-minute format that blends yin, vinyasa flow, and hatha binds. The structure felt more like a sampler platter than a single composed meal, moving between stillness and heat without a strong narrative arc connecting them. That is not necessarily a criticism. If you are the kind of practitioner who gets restless in pure yin or bored in straight vinyasa, the variety keeps you honest. Claudia's style leans verbal over physical. She cues with precision and doesn't over-handle, though she did offer a few hands-on adjustments when the moment called for it. Music was present but not dominant, more texture than soundtrack. The room was gently heated, enough to notice but not enough to suffer. The crowd was mixed in a way that felt unforced. About five men and ten women, a range of ages and skill levels. A couple of women practiced in pricey sports bras. One man went shirtless. Nobody seemed to care. That kind of unselfconsciousness is harder to manufacture than a marble lobby and eucalyptus towels. Kaia has ten-plus locations across Connecticut and one in New York. It is family-owned, women-owned, and has been operating since 2006. The Westport studio has two practice rooms, showers and a small boutique. Parking is right outside. For the Fairfield County corridor, this is the grittier, less performative alternative to the big-box wellness brands, and I mean that as a compliment. The yoga is real. The space is honest. The shoes are everywhere.

I have a couple of mobility restrictions, and she kept checking in on me to make sure the exercises worked for me. She offered me modifications to help my limitations, and made my work out highly efficient. I have taken almost 40 classes with numerous instructors, and she's already my favorite! Hoping to take more classes with her whenever I'm in the area. Thank you so much, Hannah! ☺️

see all reviewsI genuinely cannot say enough wonderful things about Sharelyn. This was one of the most thoughtful, intentional, and personalized bodywork experiences I’ve ever had. What stood out most was how incredibly safe and supported I felt throughout the entire treatment - both physically and energetically. Sharelyn has such a grounded, intuitive presence, and it was clear that she wasn’t simply moving through a standard treatment or routine. She was genuinely present, listening to my body, responding to what I needed, and personalizing the experience as we went. There was so much care and intention behind everything she did. Her touch is incredible. The lymphatic work was beautifully gentle and light, yet still felt deeply effective and restorative. Her pressure, technique, pacing, and energy all felt so considered. I never felt rushed or like I was just another appointment on the schedule. I felt completely cared for and held throughout the experience. The space itself is also SO beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully created, which only adds to the sense of safety and calm. I’ve experienced many different forms of massage and bodywork over the years, and there is something truly special about Sharelyn and the way she approaches her work. I left feeling lighter, grounded, deeply relaxed, and more connected to my body. This felt like so much more than just a treatment. I’m incredibly grateful I found her and am already looking forward to coming back and exploring more of her work. ✨💚
