Jordan had amazing energy and it was super helpful to hear her pointers on the proper form. This class was a great way to start my weekend, and I’ll definitely be sore tomorrow!

    Bodies By Elle

This class was really challenging and pushed me throughout, but I felt amazing at the end! I enjoyed that it was simplified into two rounds (20 minutes of treadmill and 20 minutes of weight training). That being said, I do wish that there was a stretch component built in for a few minutes at the end.

    Othership Breathwork

Othership Breathwork with Renelyn Quinicot was a really new and interesting class for me and I'm glad I went. It's different from a silent meditation and requires a lot of dynamic breath work exercises so if you're curious to expand on meditation I'd give this a try. I also liked the live instruments; using sound and vibrations helped me stay grounded in the experience. Lastly, the community part of the class was lovely. Renelyn encouraged us to speak with someone in the studio for a few minutes and making that brief connection was surprisingly refreshing and enjoyable. My only critique is that the sounds was a bit loud for me. It looks like they'll be rotating different instructors as part of a partnership with Othership. Mats, towels and eye covers are provided. The heat is turned off in the studio for this but is still quite warm. I recommend bringing layers and a bottle of water. In terms of the actual space, Jaybird is beautiful, clean and has all standard amenities: Lockers, individual change rooms, shower rooms and washrooms. The receptionist was helpful and they sell merchandise on the side. I would come back to check out other classes. A note on mobility: The studio is up stairs and I don't think there's an elevator. Take off your shoes before entering.

This class is identical to Track Fitness Circuit 60 except the studio is red orange so you feel a bit like youre in a tanning booth. Class was challenging mix of treadmill and strength and conditioning mat work. Instructor was super nice, welcoming and mindful of all the students. Beautiful studio, change rooms, coffee bar, etc.

Really liked this class and instructor. He was super friendly and came around to everyone offering corrections. I liked that for more complicated combos he had you do it with him. Wouldve liked a bit more time with the medicine ball but overall a great work out!

Great class! Boot camp style with 4 different stations that you rotate through. The instructor was very clear, very supportive and ran the class efficiently. The studio is big and the change rooms were spacious & had lots of products. I love the stretching area!

    Powerlifting Club

Bang is one of my favourite gyms in the city. It makes fitness accessible for all people, and has a very accepting culture. But they also get the work done. I’ve been coming to PowerLifting Club weekly for about 5-6 months and I can’t believe my gains. Steve is no-nonsense and wants you to lift safely, but it makes his approval that much more meaningful when you get it! If you’ve ever wanted to try lifting but have been intimidated, this is your safe place to try it out.

    Spinning

Honestly you need to try spinning with chuck - it was so awesome. He knew everyone in the class by name, including the two new people, and was very motivating. He was also funny, had great music, and would even fill up our water bottles for us while we were spinning.
