see all reviewsKenny was great - super energy and kept everyone motivated. This was an intense class which definitely got my heart rate up and sweat pumping! I didn’t love the no shoes on the floor and therefore the lack of grip but that’s just me!

see all reviewsTricia‘a class was challenging in a great way! She makes an effort to know the students’ names. I liked how she not only gave verbal cues but also did some of the movements with us. My only complaint is the temperature - I wish we had more ventilation, because it gets SO HOT and SO SWEATY. I’ve been to her class three times and all three times I had to lay in child’s pose for the last 10 minutes because I get so dizzy.

see all reviewsShe was so kind and had great energy but she just needs a bit more confidence! It was somewhat confusing when she would say “well you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to” during the workouts so I couldn’t keep track of reps. Liked the mix of yoga in it!

see all reviewsHonestly this is my favorite class at Bodyrok! It’s the only megaformer class I can find in NYC to incorporate the jump board, which I really takes the workout up a notch. My only gripe with BodyRok in general is that there aren’t as many instructions on form, but Kristen was an exception. Having had rotator cuff surgery and tears in both shoulders, I really appreciated the options offered to modify each position to what works best for my body. Great class!

see all reviewsJamie and Craig took it up a notch in this class! First timers - it's really challenging in the beginning but worth it to come back. It took me quite a few classes before I could completely follow a new routine. Plus routines are repeated for the following 2-3 weeks before a new one is taught.

see all reviewsHarder than I expected! A combo of dance cardio, pilates, yoga, with some of the classic Jane Fonda leg lifts thrown in. I thought it was fun, and Dino was very kind. Only con is that it’s a small, old space in the village so you’re very close together - the mats are six inches apart. And of course it’s a third floor walk up.

see all reviewsThe meat of Daniella’s class was really, really great. I would prefer a much shorter intro before class and no debrief after class. I found the intro to be repetitive and intense (I don’t need to hear a sample scream and I think she could demonstrate the concepts while teaching in the actual class instead of teaching techniques before getting started. In a yoga class poses are taught in real time not at the beginning to prep, and I’d like to see that approach here as I see in other meditation and breath work classes). The intro took at least 4x too long and unfortunately the debrief after class took me from being relaxed to being a bit more stressed again hearing about her love of breath work and listening to others’ experiences and debating with myself whether or not to share about my (truly wonderful) experience. Overall I highly recommend but I think there is room for improvement <3

see all reviewsGreat cardio and kickboxing class. Class stared off with an intense 10 min of straight body weight cardio and shadow boxing (jump squats, burpees, lunges, jumping jacks, mountain climbers etc). Then class was split in half. Half doing standard circuits (dumbbell renegade rows, box jumps and tricep dips, treadmill, rope pulls, med ball slams) whole the other half of class did different bag work combination stations- one station being with the instructor. Class ended with sit ups and dumbbell shadow boxing/lifts/curls.

see all reviewsA great beyond-basics vinyasa class. Not super hot, but I think that works well with the format! (I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for anyone brand-new to yoga, as it’s fast-paced and there’s not much in the way of instruction for individual poses.)

see all reviewsWhat a fun class. I went with a friend. In the summer, It’s 12 people on a rooftop doing ab and balance work on surfboards that are set On Balance balls. This guy seems to know a lot about surfing (I know nothing), so it was an educational and fun session. I’d go back for the workout personally, not sure if I have an interest in surfing—both motives were welcome though. If you did have an interest, it sounds like a fun place to meet people.

see all reviewsThis was SO nice. A very gentle but challenging Pilates class. There were only 3 of us but it felt right because the room wasn’t all that big and it was dimly lit anyways. This instructor was really clear on her instructions and gave adjustments as needed. This would be a great workout to focus on breathing and strength. And the space is incredible— a luxurious workout, if there ever was one.
