see all reviewsHaving trained at both Onyx and Pound boxing studios, I can confidently say that Onyx stands out as the superior choice for boxing training and instruction. Here are a few reasons why Onyx excels in comparison to Pound: 1. **Expert Instruction**: The trainers at Onyx possess a wealth of experience and knowledge in boxing. They not only teach the techniques but also share their insights about the sport's history and strategies, which enhances the learning experience. The instructors take the time to provide personalized feedback, ensuring that each student develops proper form and technique. 2. **Focused Curriculum**: Onyx has a structured curriculum that emphasizes skill development at all levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced boxer, the classes are designed to progressively build your skills. This methodical approach helps students grasp the fundamentals and master advanced techniques more effectively than at Pound. 3. **Community and Support**: The culture at Onyx fosters a strong sense of community and support among its members. Everyone, from beginners to seasoned fighters, encourages one another, creating a positive training environment. This camaraderie makes it easier to stay motivated and committed to improvement. 4. **Facilities and Equipment**: Onyx boasts modern facilities with state-of-the-art equipment, including a well-maintained boxing ring, various bags, and ample training space. The studio's layout promotes an efficient training experience, allowing for more focused practice and less downtime compared to Pound. 5. **Class Variety**: Onyx offers a diverse range of classes catering to different skill levels and goals, from fitness-oriented sessions to more competitive training. This variety ensures that every member can find a class that suits their needs, making training more enjoyable and effective. In conclusion, while both studios have their merits, Onyx's expert instruction, structured curriculum, supportive community, top-notch facilities, and diverse class offerings make it the better option for anyone serious about boxing and learning the craft. If you're looking to elevate your boxing skills, Onyx is definitely the place to be!

see all reviewsStrongly recommend this class. High level friendly coaching, clean facilities, great for conditioning and resistance training at the same time. I prefer this over other HIIT classes or just running on the treadmill. As a prior amateur boxer and now physician, I find this class perfectly balanced and not intimidating for even beginners. Would definitely come back

see all reviewsI was nervous to try kickboxing for the first time but it ended up being so fun! I went in with zero knowledge and Grace showed me all the basic movements before class and helped guide me through the workout to make sure I was doing everything properly. We did 3 minute rounds of kickboxing on each side with 1 minute of conditioning in between. I’m sad my watch was dead because I would’ve loved to see how many calories I burned😅😅
