    Wow I loved this class! I liked Kevin’s technique: a focus on breath work with small movements with strong impact, choreography that gradually increases difficulty, while giving you options if you’d like to do more or less. It was my first time to use a Balanced Body machine which is like a typical reformer machine except it’s on the ground so it feels more stable and I got deeper stretches. It was also my first trime to try Infrared heat during pilates which is similar to Bikram yoga in a hot room so I definitely sweated it out more and my muscles felt warmer. Facilities are okay, they lend workout towels and there are showers. Met the studio owner who I recognized from YouTube workout videos from the pandemic, they really are passionate about fitness and it was great to finally try their gym. Would love to come back and try the other classes!

    I love his classes! Besides the tough programs he sets - Acton is really nice. I have a shoulder injury and need to slow down and hold back a bit and Acton is really mindful about this and not pushing me further than what my shoulder is able to bear. Class is tough but I always feel so good afterwards. And as a coach Acton is always there with you - helping you count your sets - making sure you don’t cheat lol - but it’s really nice as you feel like there’s someone actually watching what you are doing and not just some coach setting a program and that’s it. Besides that the studio is really clean and tidy. It is something that I really appreciate as some gym studios I go to always look like they’ve never been cleaned and when you do a lot of workouts on the floor you really appreciate a clean environment.

    I enjoy the workouts, but I’ve noticed some challenges with equipment sharing during class. For example, in a class of 10, only 4 benches were available, leading to 3 people sharing stations, which slowed the flow. (This isn’t about managing spots for ClassPass or gym members.) To improve, coaches could group participants by similar weights or establish clear rules for teamwork and station use. Better organization would make the sessions smoother and more welcoming, especially for newcomers. Thank you for the great environment overal.

    Friendly instructor. Maybe a bit too friendly? I felt like the rest times were really long and not just because he was correcting form but because he and the other two girls (who seemed to be regulars) started conversing. But to be fair the class went on for an extra 30 mins as well (on the assumption it was only supposed to be an hour). I would’ve like it more if he corrected during the time you were doing it rather than the breaks. The following has nothing to do with the rating a chose but just something I needed to mention, I’m pretty good at conversational canto but really struggled to understand technical terms and what I can only assume were muscle names and things - so it was a bit hard to follow his corrections - has nothing to do with how I rated since I’m sure many would like the extra tidbits of info but it would have been easier for me if he simpled it down to “hands x width apart” “legs wider” “squeeze your core” and where I should be feeling it rather than trying to understand what he was talking about how because it’s a cable and something you can pull down more instead of shifting your body back (?) honestly I didn’t understand all that much. Space was nice and clean :$ felt inviting.
