Really great flow and instruction by Tricia. I appreciated her calling out everyone by name and providing helpful modifications through our class. The room was very hot though and at one point, I almost felt like passing out. Just FYI for others.

    Shredded

Great full body workout using dumbbells and bodyweight. Class consisted of 3 circuits, each circuit had 5 workouts-3 strength, 1 cardio and 1 core (done three times through). Expect to do squats, lunges, planks, tricep extensions, bicep curls, jumping jacks, skiers etc.

CORE & CARDIO Sculpt Full Body

Honestly this is my favorite class at Bodyrok! It’s the only megaformer class I can find in NYC to incorporate the jump board, which I really takes the workout up a notch. My only gripe with BodyRok in general is that there aren’t as many instructions on form, but Kristen was an exception. Having had rotator cuff surgery and tears in both shoulders, I really appreciated the options offered to modify each position to what works best for my body. Great class!

    Videography Dance Project: 3D

Jamie and Craig took it up a notch in this class! First timers - it's really challenging in the beginning but worth it to come back. It took me quite a few classes before I could completely follow a new routine. Plus routines are repeated for the following 2-3 weeks before a new one is taught.

    Bar Method

The studio inside is gorgeous. But the workout space is carpeted, and all the mats are kind of a soft cloth. Kind of made me wonder how sanitary it all was… great instructor, hard workout, lasted a whole hour.

    IN PERSON Katonah Restorative

This felt more like a workshop than a typical yoga class. Lots of props and hands on assists. Kyle was very welcoming and seemed very knowledgeable about anatomy and the theory behind the poses. It was not all about relaxation like some other restorative classes I’ve been to. No bolsters, singing bowls, or dim lighting. Definitely worth checking out but don’t come here expecting nap time.

    Live Stream - Restorative (online)

So relaxing. This is not Yin. This is restorative which is more passive laying stretching poses. Almost meditative. Time of day is weird to me (11:15a) I randomly had a day off so I could take this class which I really enjoyed but is more of a senior citizen crowd. Wish it was offered at more assessable times. Def recommend if some unwinding if you can get to this class time. Old school yoga studio. Very classic.

    60min Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

This is one of the best ashtanga yoga practices in the city. I’ve been to spirit lab, sui, fierce grace, new love city, Brooklyn yoga project, humming puppy, etc and practice all types of yoga, and I can say that this is one of the most calming, naturally-beautiful studios in Manhattan. There’s a garden that you can shower in- check it out after a day time class. The thing about ashtanga for yogis is that it’s almost like ballet for dancers… you need this to build a foundation. Even if you’re an experienced yogi, you should come and see how you feel after you practice. Notice the difference in your mood, nervous system, etc after this class vs some of the faster-paced vinyasa classes. Would highly reco checking it out and coming with an open mind!

    Heated Vinyasa Yoga

A great beyond-basics vinyasa class. Not super hot, but I think that works well with the format! (I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for anyone brand-new to yoga, as it’s fast-paced and there’s not much in the way of instruction for individual poses.)
