    After a diagnosis, I’m relearning my body and trying to push myself without going too far. Louisa made me feel welcomed and didn’t make me feel lesser because I couldn’t/didn’t feel comfortable in certain positions. I still got a great workout, and the positivity and nonjudgmental vibes were appreciated. Would recommend her teaching for anyone.

    BREATHE SLOW + RESTORE

    A lovely class - limbering and wonderfully relaxing at the same time. Barbara does a great job - her instructions are clear and firmly spoken. Also, even though I didn’t avail of her offer, it is reassuring when she checks in and asks folks in the class to flag her if they are feeling any discomfort or need help adapting a pose. A shout out too for the mini massages and lavender stones for an extra little boost of mid-week relaxation. Thank you, Barbara!

    I love Gianna and her yoga classes. When I imagine power yoga, I imagine it moving a little faster, but hers includes a bit more stretching in the beginning, then ramps up in speed, then slows down nicely. She is wonderful with assists and cues as well.

    I attended Monia’s class (09/2022). M welcomes students by arranging their props in a circle. This gave me a chance to smile and greet two other students. At the start of the hour, M introduced a theme of defeat and gave students radical choice to move through positions. For example, M presented downward dog and child’s pose as options for the anchoring position. M’s verbal cues taught me transferrable tips on how to process my personal defeat. I know Monia’s theme will change, but this teacher’s powerful medicine made the sequence coherent and meaningful. I feel so fortunate that classpass taps me into a community like MOTA.

    This class was slightly more technical than my regular studio, but the instructor gave great assists, so I was really able to push myself and try a few new things. Im not a fan of pillows and blankets in yoga classes , so I just didnt take them and this was 100% fine. The class was super quiet until the instructor arrived which is also different than my regular studio where everyone is a little more chatty, but it was a great class and Ill certainly go again.
