    C2 - CorePower Yoga 2: Candlelight

Im bummed this is Lillas last Wednesday evening class because shes such a great instructor. It was the perfect mix of routine asanas, easily modifiable for various difficulty levels and was somehow relaxing yet challenging. Really enjoyed this evening hot yoga class. Bring water and a towel!

    Vinyasa All Levels

Every week is different and so every week is the chance to learn a new pose or an old one more deeply. If you just want someone yelling VINYASA at you, then it’s not your class. But this is NOT an easy class. You will burn, topple, and silently curse her name.

    Power Vinyasa Yoga

Roses classes are quickly becoming some of my favorite. Her classes are challenging and sweaty (but very modifiable) and she always has an interesting flow sequence or unusual set of poses. She has us do poses Ive never done and Ive been doing yoga for over 15 years. Very fun to have a class full of unexpected poses while still having lots of traditional vinyasa sequences. Beautiful studio too!

    YS - Yoga Sculpt

Sophie's class is very intense! I have been regularly attending challenging yoga and pilates classes for a few months and I had to drop my weights long before the end. Great workout for those who are already in shape and want to amp it up even more but beginners beware.

My friend and I are both over 40 years old. We love this class it is very challenging, you sweat so much u won’t believe it. The rest of the day though you have nothing left, you feel beyond spent. Something wrong but special about it.

    Vinyasa

This class was just what I want in a yoga class. A good balance of flow and stretching / restorative poses. I worked up energy and warmth but wasnt out of breath like I am at some vinyasa/ power vinyasa classes. Jaimis voice is also very calming.

    Monkey Conditioning

I love monkey conditioning! I wish I discovered it sooner! I can't quite power my way through a burpee (not here, but other gyms) or the monkey dance (yes, here), but I actually want to put all my effort into the monkey dance. Can't ever say that with burpees. Athletic Playground is a fantastic place all around!!!

    Power Vinyasa (All Levels)

This was BY FAR the best yoga class I’ve taken anywhere. Sometimes yoga can feel repetitive and my body feels weak and the class environment makes me feel self conscious. But this class was was varied and interesting. We did asanas I had never done before, and the the flows were hard but with many modifications available for my beginner self. The instructor was calming and kind and helpful and made us feel strong and capable and supported. Wish I could do this class every day honestly.

    Strong Mindful Flow (music)

It was a small class so Meghan was able to offer us all very helpful adjustments, which I appreciated. Her instructions are kind and matter of fact. It was a great class for hitting all the expected poses, and I loved the bit of core work.

    BIKRAM Yoga

Very traditional teaching style from atop the speaking platform. Some days I like more hands on adjustments, other days I just want a straightforward disciplined class. Beautiful studio, well kept locker room (though I did go to the first class of the evening) well trained desk staff. And thank you for NOT using the fans too often and keeping the humidity and HEAT UP til the very end!!! Absolutely hate too many fan breaks and lying in a "cold sweat." Suggestion for newbies: ego at the door, take in any constructive criticism as room for improvement, tell yourself to just stay STILL and breathe even if you sit out during poses, and your body can really enjoy the blood flowing in final savasana. Best part haha. Be patient and just have fun learning :)

    Vinyasa

Jaimi has such a unique teaching style. Her classes combine mindful therapeutic movements, strength/core conditioning, self-directed vinyasa, and directed buildup to hero poses, in the case of my class it was handstand and camel. I had the best night of sleep after class. I also love the low lighting for a 7:15 pm class; it helped me but unwind and get lots of movement in.

    Moderate Mindful Flow (no music)

Great flow class - Marianne was both kind and motivating as well as challenging and funny. It was definitely a different style class with poses I don’t usually do, but a good workout and a great way to push myself and still be mindful of my limits.

    Slow Flow

What a fantastic experience. I left feeling rejuvenated, calm and confident. Treina's instructions are clear and easy to follow. The space is a little sparse, but down-to-earth and very homey, with candles and tapestries. I'm convinced you get a better yoga experience here than at any of those upscale yoga boutiques.

    Yoga

My favorite yoga teacher today. So good for an introduction to yoga because everything is so well explained but also challenging. I think the approach where she mostly starts with an easier version then change for difficulty is so nice because everyone is more included. Also she projects her voice so well over the Sports Basement music, which was quite loud at least initially.
