Tech company synonymous with fitness expands into the broader wellness category
(New York, NY) February 20, 2018 – ClassPass, the leading fitness membership, is expanding beyond fitness to incorporate wellness offerings into their roster of experiences bookable through the ClassPass platform. Beginning this week, ClassPass will start providing a subset of users in New York City access to a variety of beauty and wellness services, which they will be available to find and reserve through their current ClassPass subscription.
The New York-based tech company already boasts the most flexible fitness membership, connecting its members to over 8,500 gyms and fitness studios globally. Those chosen for the pilot program will be able to book and discover an assortment of new experiences from massages, facials, cryotherapy, float spas, infrared saunas, acupuncture, and more. ClassPass will be exploring a variety of additional wellness services and venues throughout this testing period.
“Expanding into wellness has been on our radar for some time,” said Fritz Lanman, ClassPass CEO. “Our users are a health-conscious group looking to discover high-quality experiences at the best possible value. They crave more than just physical fitness and as trailblazers in the space, it’s our role to create an inclusive business model that encompasses wellness while continuing to introduce users to new experiences.”
Introducing a more diverse inventory of experiences will enable and encourage members to enhance their wellness routines beyond physical exercise through one all-access membership. The test will permit select users to reserve these experiences as part of their current ClassPass subscription at no additional cost.
“Our mission at ClassPass has always been to motivate people to lead inspired lives by connecting them to soul-nurturing experiences,” said Payal Kadakia, Founder and Chair of ClassPass. “Access to wellness services will help our users live their lives more fully. It has always been our goal to expand beyond fitness classes, because fitness is only part of the equation that contributes to health and happiness. We’re thrilled to offer ClassPass members even more opportunities to connect with experiences they love.”
