About this class

This class blends together the best of Pilates, yoga, and body sculpting. Get a complete body workout through a high energy and low impact class that tones your muscles with isolated movements, isometric exercises, orthopedic stretches and light weights complimented by a continual fat burning process. This class tones your seat, abdominals, thighs, arms as well as strengthens your legs, back, and improves your posture. You will use our own body weight for resistance targeting each of your muscle groups to the point of fatigue. Then, you will stretch those muscles in a way that promotes long and lean muscle growth developing a long and lean physique. Grip socks recommended (available for purchase).

My first barre class with Julie—tougher than others I have taken, but in a good way! Very attentive and takes the time to help correct/enhance each individual’s experience.

This was the first barre class I have taken that borrowed a lot from ballet (terminology, arm movements, plies), which I really enjoyed, and I will be coming back for it. If you have any injuries, be prepared to know how to modify: the teacher didn't address modifications, nor were there really any breaks to speak of between movements that would have allowed for asking questions without interrupting the class or the teacher. In the end, a lot of the ab work we did involved items that I have been strictly told to avoid while I am undergoing physical therapy (twist crunches, lifting up head while crunching/lowering legs, etc.), but luckily I have been instructed by others trainers on how to modify them safely.

How to prepare

Please arrive 15 minutes early to your first class so we have time to set you up for success. We want you to have a great, effective workout. Grip socks are highly recommended for Reformer classes (available for purchase). We provide hand towels, fruit, and cold, filtered water available (bring your water bottle)!. Mats are provided. PLEASE come early. These classes fill up, so after 7 minutes of class start, we may have to give your spot to someone waiting. If you're stuck in traffic, we definitely understand, but please give us a call.

What is ClassPass?
