About this class
These classes are taught by one of our specialist women's physio team. It is suitable for those past their 12 week scan and can accommodate those brand new to Pilates. The classes are limited to nine people to ensure everyone receives personalised and individual attention and will focus on exercises and stretches to help strengthen the core and stabilise the pelvis. Pregnancy pilates offers multiple benefits including, supporting your back and baby, helping with the changes to your posture, pelvic floor education, breathing technique and toning the muscles used during pregnancy and your baby's delivery. Pilates is based upon an understanding of the muscular and skeletal systems of the human body. It is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Pilates reshapes the body by targeting and strengthening core muscles which are vital for reducing back pain, releases tension and improves posture and flexibility, returning the body to its natural alignment. It avoids the muscle and ligament damage sometimes associated with other fitness regimes and consequently plays a key role in many injury and rehabilitation programmes.
