Great intro class
Boxing After Dark (B.A.D.) with Rah
Rah was a fantastic instructor! He gave individual attention to our technique and constantly pushed us to give it our all. You will be worked in this class - I’ll definitely be back for another!
Boxing: Mitts & HIIT with Susan
Def not a class for beginners. I had never held the mitts before and the combos were so complex my partner and I didn’t even get to hit hard cause we were trying to just remember all the moves. Instructor was nice, she tried to move around and help but i def think my brain got more of a workout than my body
Boxing After Dark (B.A.D.) with Josh
Light intensity. I personally prefer a more high intensity class
POW! Strength (Kettlebells) & Mobility with Susan
Very intense workout. Worth the visit but definitely not for beginners.

Loved the instructor’s enthusiasm and teaching. I will definitely try again.

About this studio

POW! Gym has been in business since 2001. The Owner, Katalin Rodriguez Ogren, established POW! to offer Chicago's active adults a safe place to learn and train in Martial Arts and Combat Sports which include Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Krav Maga along with Strength & Conditioning. The extensive experience and hands-on training style of the instructors make POW! the premier Combat Sports & Sport Performance gym in Chicago. Safety is a primary concern and POW! strives to provide proper form and technique in all their classes. The goal is to help you reach your personal fitness and/or training goals. POW! will help you train your way to a healthier and stronger body! Most classes are 45 minutes in length. Classes are always exciting, structured, and motivating!

How to prepare

It is mandatory to arrive 10-15m before class begins. No client may enter class more than 5m late. POW! provides gloves/wraps for 1st time only. After this, you are REQUIRED to have own gear or purchase in their pro-shop. POW! does not allow street shoes on it's training floors/track. Please bring a clean pair of indoor shoes to all classes. Classes in the martial arts studio are barefoot optional. POW! disinfects it's training floors daily. POW has showers/guest lockers (bring lock). There is a charge for towel service.

How to get there

310 S. Racine 1st Floor (their door is on the south side of building) POW! is located in the Extrastorage Building between Jackson and Van Buren. They have a free parking lot located behind the building. The entrance is on Jackson which is a one-way going East. POW! is across the street from the Blue line Racine stop and the Jackson bus stop.

What is ClassPass?
