About this studio

One of the most important yogic texts on record, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, details step by step the process and benefits of yoga. Each sutra is a thread that links to the next, and the next, forming the tapestry of one's personal practice. They believe that yoga is a study that should meet every student at their beginning, whatever that may be, and that there is always a place to learn and grow when you begin at the roots of your practice. It is from this belief that their name sprung, after Sutra 1.1: "Now, the study and practice of yoga begins."

How to prepare

Bring your mat, or rent one for $2 cash, a water bottle and an open mind. They have lots of props to help your practice, and no, the studio is not heated. Expect to heat yourself with your breath and movement instead.

I love 1.1 Yoga! Personally, Becca’s class is just a little too out there for me - if you like faster transitions and a variety of poses, you’ll enjoy her class ☺️

The session was intense, but manageable. Lynn was a great instructor, gave suggestions for modifications and encouraged that vital mind-body connection. Invigorating!
