How to prepare
Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of your appointment in order to get settled into the space and complete any necessary paperwork at the front desk. Please also note that you are reserving a specific appointment at Freeze & Float, so if you need to cancel your reservation, please do so as early in advance as possible! Float: Before you float avoid alcohol and stimulants. Do not drink coffee at least 2 hours beforehand as it can make your system jittery. Eat a light meal about an hour to 90 minutes prior to your appointment. Also, it helps to be sufficiently hydrated before floating. They recommend not shaving or waxing 8 hours prior to your float as the salt water might sting. They request that you do NOT float if: -You have not been shown how to use the tank by a qualified person -You are under the influence of alcohol or other drugs -You’ve gotten a tattoo in the last 4-6 weeks -You have open or bleeding wounds -You suffer from incontinence or uncontrolled epilepsy -You have been medically advised not to float Sauna: They will provide you with towels and anything else that is necessary for your best experience. Please remember to remain hydrated before and during your session. Infrared saunas heat you gently and slowly, making it a relaxing experience for most people. You may find that you do not sweat for the first 10-15 minutes, or not very much at all your first time. With increased usage you will likely notice an increased ability to sweat more productively. After sweating you will feel great. You may notice glowing skin, diminished wrinkles, muscle and injury relief as well as a sense of relaxation. Pregnant women, individuals with pacemakers, those who have an inability to sweat should avoid the use of infrared saunas. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna. Cryotherapy: It is important to be fully dry before your cryotherapy session. The following conditions are contraindications for Whole Body Cryotherapy: Pregnancy, severe hypertension (BP > 180/100), hypothyroidism, acute or recent myocardial infarction (heart attack: need to be cleared for exercise), narrowing of valves, crescent-shaped aorta and mitral valve, unstable angina pectoris, arrhythmia, symptomatic cardiovascular disease, cardiac pacemaker, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, venous thrombosis, acute or recent cerebrovascular accident (stroke: must be cleared for exercise), uncontrolled seizures, Raynaud’s syndrome, fever, tumor disease, symptomatic lung disorders, bleeding disorders, severe anemia, infection, cold allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract diseases, incontinence.
