see all reviewsThe Hyperion at the Proper Hotel is a truly luxurious wellness experience. You have your own private suite with all the amenities you’d expect from a high-end hotel room, including a full bathroom. I appreciated that you’re free to customize how you spend your hour based on the therapies that interest you. The red light therapy bed is limited to a 15 minute session, and the PEMF mat runs for 8 minutes, but otherwise you can tailor the experience to your preferences. Since it was my first visit, I wanted to sample a little bit of everything.Unfortunately, when I went to use the PEMF mat, it displayed a low battery warning and wouldn’t operate. I spent about 10 minutes trying to see if I could plug it in or use the attachment for a specific body part instead, but wasn’t able to get it working. That was the only disappointment during an otherwise excellent experience. Had all of the equipment been functioning properly, I would have gladly given this experience 5 stars.

The instructor didn’t do a warmup, we went straight into work; there also weren’t many breath cues which is a core Pilates principle; and there was a lack of clear verbal instructions as to if a movement was alternating sides or staying one sided. Overall, I will be back for another class and instructor.

She pressed on certain pressure points and massaged my face in such a unique way. It was very painful in some areas, but right after the massage, I could genuinely feel that my circulation had improved. The facial was also incredibly hydrating. When I looked in the mirror afterward, my face was glowing and looked noticeably more sculpted and smaller! I will definitely be coming back. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the way the neck and shoulder massage was handled. They use massage oil, which is great, but afterward, they rinse the oil off with water, and the water was quite strong and ended up getting my back and the back of my sports bra wet. I had to drive home for 30 minutes with a wet back, which was a little annoying. Other than that, everything was perfect! I really enjoyed the facial and would definitely recommend Paulina.
