About this studio

Barry’s is an hour-long cardio and strength-building workout designed to help your body burn up to 1,000 calories thanks to their carefully crafted program that is as effective as it is fun. Their clients spend 25-30 minutes running on the treadmill and 25-30 minutes doing strength training, broken into rounds.

How to prepare

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class. If you arrive with 3 minutes or less to class time, your reservation will be given to a stand by student. You will be randomly assigned a spot on the treadmill or the floor, however reservations booked on the treadmill may be moved to the floor at the studio's discretion. Thank you for your understanding. Please bring a water bottle or you can purchase one for $2.

How to get there

There is market rate parking in the area. Closest public transportation: Montgomery St. Station: 4 mins (0.2 miles) Embarcadero: 7 mins (0.3 miles) You will receive a confirmation email from Barry's, letting you of your spot. Although this email will come from Barry's, it is still a ClassPass reservation, and you may not change your assigned spot. Please email info@classpass.com with questions. If you do not show up at least 3 mins prior to class, you may run the risk of losing your spot to those on the waitlist and may be marked as a No Show. Barry's will do their best to accommodate, even if it means assigning you to a Double Floor.

I’ve been going to Barry’s for a while now but first tome to Erica’s class. She’s hands down the BEST! Super challenging class and she’s so adorable!
Abs (50 Minutes) with Paul
I’m hesitant to say anything negative because Paul is one of my favorites - but wow today was a class I would not take again. It’s usually super positive and motivating, but today was mostly bashing the slower runners, “quitters,” and people who leave early. I’m not sorry that I value my hard earned career more than those last 5 minutes of fat-burning muscle building, as important as they are, but I need to get back to work in hurry sometimes. I left with a bad taste in my mouth. And super sore abs and glutes as I had intended - at least you can count on that.

Ive been to Barrys bootcamp before so I thought I knew what I was getting into, but I just cant recommend this particular class or instructor. Whats billed as a 50 minute class was only 40 min (4x 10 minute sets), the instructor didnt demonstrate any of the strength training moves so people just looked around at each other for guidance (at times no one knew what to do), and when I tripped on the treadmill (because its pitch dark in the room), I fell flat on my face and was shot backwards into the guy behind me doing his strength set, the instructor didnt even notice or come over to check on me. There are also cameras in the room so some Barrys employee watched me fall, yet no one said a word. Luckily I only left with a skinned knee and disappointment.

I just moved from Chicago to SF. I tried out the downtown studio to see if I would still like the workout. The SF downtown studio is small and I was disappointed that the class was only 50 minutes. The Chicago classes are only 60 minutes and very challenging. Also, I miss the cold towels after class ????.

Awesome class as always. The verbal cues for the floor people werent as clear as they usually are so a lot of people were looking around confused, but still a great workout and I felt accomplished afterwards.

What is ClassPass?
