How to prepare

Wear yoga-like attire and bring a water bottle. We have filtered water and supply all props including a barre3 core ball, light weights, yoga strap, Pilates mat and, of course, a ballet barre. Socks are optional.

Loved the extra weights in this class! Intense, but a great workout. Hope other instructors will be doing more with arms as well in the future

Gina is my new favorite instructor at Barre3! Super nice, offered lots of judgement free modifications for moves, took time to show things slowly so newer people could do them accurately too. Supportive, kind, challenging and motivating. Will definitely be back to her classes.

I love Hedy, but I hate how crowded the classes can be here. The class tonight was so jam-packed that I was unable to fully participate in the movements, and did not get the workout or post-workout headspace I so desperately needed. Seriously, people were crowding between barre spaces meant for an individual. Please stop overbooking classes!

There was only one guy in this class and the instructor made a comment during class that he ‘must be in heaven’. Totally creepy, inappropriate and completely disappointing coming from a woman.

Michelle was great! Checked in with everyone before class about injuries and said hi. Offered lots of variation on moves for different abilities. However same issue as last class -- for a "full body workout" about 70% of the moves focused primarily around leg strength. Some arm work. No glutes! Wished it was more well rounded.

the good: Love the playlist! Very inviting atmosphere. Wide variety of body types and ages (so inclusive). Clean space, well organized. the not so good: If you're new or newer to Barre, not many of the moves are explained, you have to just jump into them and hope the teacher corrects you. Poses / moves definitely have different names that other places I have been which was confusing. Can't say if this is always the case or just this class but it was very lower body focused. Not a lot of arm or chest work. And the use of balance balls in some movements just seemed unnecessarily confusing and more difficult (compared to other studios where the same moves are done without a ball) . All in all I would say this place definitely has it's own technique and vibe. If you can go with that, great! For others it might be too overwhelming.
