About this studio

Ballet Bodies was created in 2008. Designed by a ballet dancer, their method is accessible to everybody (men and women)! Cross-training is the key to longevity as a dancer and at Ballet Bodies, no form of exercise is off-limits as long as it keeps you strong, lean and injury-free. Whether you’re on classic Pilates equipment (Reformers or Cadillacs) or utilizing just your body as your prime mode of movement, each movement draws its inspiration from a pro dancer’s precision and grace. The BB method will change the way you feel in body, mind and spirit.

How to prepare

Please wear sneakers for Burn. Ballet shoes or socks are perfectly fine for all other ballet and mat ballet classes. The entrance to the studio is in the rear of the building. They provide towels, lockers (bring a lock) as well as complimentary tea and water.

How to get there

There is minimal parking behind the building. There is street parking in the area and the meters accept cards.

Ballet Basic with Stephanie
This class was not basic. The moves weren’t all that difficult, but there was ZERO explanation of any element. I’m a true beginner so expected to be behind the curve. But this went beyond me not knowing my starting positions. Frequent use of Ballet terms/movements without definitions or explanations. NO modifications suggested—including for a full split stretch. NO guidance or corrections for students who were lost or clearly needed help. Plus, she often gave 40+ counts at a time as instruction with no breakdown or reiteration. There were some technique pointers for more regular participants (i.e. those that had been before and knew what to do). Teacher seems nice and talented but she needs to adjust her teaching to the level of the class.
Ballet Burn with Stephanie
Wow! This class is killer. Stephanie is a sweetheart..don’t let the kind smile fool you, she will push you beyond your limits! Very upbeat, nonstop tempo...you will feel the burn! I had an intimate class of only 2, but it was wonderful as it was my first time, so I got to adjust to the transitions and mini trampoline/weights. It helps to have experience in ballet when it comes to keeping up, but it is simple to pick up if not...Stephanie demos the entire class which is truly motivating! I’ll def be back.

Great class for a beginner like me. I’ve taken other beginning ballet classes during my adult life (years ago!) so this was a good class for getting back into the swing of things. It’s somewhat fast paced though, and would be hard to keep up with if this was your first ballet class ever. Bridie was awesome.

What is ClassPass?
