How to prepare

Classes at AstaYoga follow a general routine that is vigorous- the more often you practice, the more familiar you will become with the flow. Our Basics classes offer more detailed instruction to get started, but a beginner's attitude is helpful and welcome in every class. The classes are heated to no more than 80 degrees. You will be trained in breathing techniques that stimulate the generation of organic sweat- the sweat you earn. We offer mats for rent ($2) and complimentary towels. Please arrive to class at least 5 minutes early.

Level 1/2 with Steve
Steve is a really good teacher! This class is ideal for everyone who is interested in a modified primary series. The pace is slower as compared the a full led class and a few asanas are skipped in order to manage it in that time frame. The only thing I don’t like is that the studio has carpet, but that’s just me personally ;)
Level 1 with Rene
very small class, was nice to get personalized tips
Level 1/2 with Kristina
This was the most confusing yoga class I have ever been in. I admit, I am not an experienced yogi, so I’m sure that’s partially to blame, but I can typically get through a Level 1/2 class. This offered very little instruction or time to get into poses. Half the people were doing handstands and the other half were just like ??? I would advise the studio to at the very least have everyone facing on direction with the instructor in the front.
Kundalini with Ting
Thank you Ting for introducing me to the world of Kundalini yoga. It’s a gift and you are a gifted teacher.
