    EXCEED: The Workout

Such a tough workout, but exactly what I wanted. Very good bang for your buck in terms of squeezing in a good full body workout. Justin was super nice and great at explaining everything. He was also good about going around and offering form corrections and positive reinforcement. Very non-judgmental and encourages you to do what your body will allow. Clean, nice studio and a small-ish class so there was ample room to do the exercises. A lot like KORE but with less over-crowding!

    Sweat-Flow

Holy cow. Ive been to lots of these trendy heated yoga places - Y7, yoga vida, sky ting - this class was harder (and maybe hotter) than them all. Maybe also cuz I was fighting a cold. But it was doable, and all levels in the class. Loved the Jen and the playlist! Good vibes.

So many reasons to love this studio: it is impeccably clean unlike most boxing studios. Its an all body workout and the bags are soft so you can kick hard without bruising shin. The instructor walks around and gives personal corrections.

More of a barre-based workout than I had expected (there werent any specifics provided on Torchd in the class description other than the fact that it was high-intensity). Also note that this is a no-shoes workout. It was a great workout for anyone who likes barre-type classes and definitely challenging. Isaac is a great instructor.

I thought this was going to be a class focused solely on boxing, but it ended up being a HIIT class, with some boxing on bags, and mitt work thrown in. The class was challenging and I enjoyed it regardless, but be aware you do not box for the full hour, nor even 50% of the class. Instructor was nice, and gloves are free to use.

Gorgeous space with bridge views and tin ceilings - like the perfect apartment, but for yoga. Jess was a great teacher - direct, specific, and expert. Nice to find a place that does hands-on adjustments but doesnt have a touchy-feely vibe. Would have liked a bit more attention to breathing, but overall Id strongly recommend and return to this class.

Tried the core-focused class after a friend recommended it, and thought it was much more challenging than the regular barre class! This is hands down the nicest Crunch location Ive ever been to in the city, and Ive been to a lot of them. The workout with Mike was great, think Fhitting room but smaller. Great class. Focuses entirely on kettle work with no cardio (which was a nice mix up). You go barefoot and do 30 seconds of something, 30 seconds rest, sometimes one minute on then one minute off. I liked the simplicity of the workout, which meant you could try heavier weights versus the boot camp style classes where you're just trying to catch up.

Melissa was great. Super energetic and welcoming. This is classified as a rowing studio but the rowing technique is very different than a regular rowing class so set your expectations. In most rowing classes your legs power the exercise. In this workout legs are static for most of it and core/upper body powers the rowing action. I find it to be not as full of a cardio workout without the legs. But if you want a good core/your body focused cardio workout, you'll enjoy this studio.

I didn’t feel comfortable at first with some of the hands-on adjustments to my waist area & outer thigh area. I think he could’ve given a blanket heads-up beforehand or something. That said, I did really appreciate the one-on-one attention because I usually feel really dumb and clumsy in boxing classes where I’m trying really hard to look tough and mean! So overall I’d prolly go back to this place and recommend it to others just for the precision factor alone.
