see all reviewsReally great experience, especially for a newcomer with very very limited experience with martial arts. I was a bit early, but this helped me learn more of the background and overview of the practice from Master Dunchok. He also explained how Kuk Sool combined both "hard" (kicks, punches, and similar) and "soft" (using the strength of your opponent against them) techniques plus different weapons per belt. When the other students came in, it was helpful to watch and mimic what the more experienced people did, in addition to a very proactive helpful teacher. Overall, the other students were open and helpful. The class started with stretches before moving to walking kick variations. Then did some tumbling (how to fall), before moving through different forms and specific techniques. Would definitely go back, though I definitely need to work on coordination and remembering the different moves.
