see all reviewsLoved the vinyasa 2 flow today. I’m still getting used to doing yoga in vinyasa style so the poses, the sequence, the speed and the vibe around me was perfect. I felt accomplished and invigorated instead of mildly in shock. Lol. The instructor does not demonstrate but she was excellent at providing cues that were easy to follow and make adjustment to without having to look around the room. I was able to keep my focus and concentrate on my body and breathe. It never felt stressful and I really enjoyed my experience here. Thank you.

see all reviewsJust experienced the Sunday 11 AM Vinyasa 1 class and I'm genuinely impressed. This isn't your typical fitness-focused flow - Full Lotus delivers authentic yoga that honors the tradition while remaining completely accessible. **The Space** The third-floor studio at 6505 Woodward is absolutely beautiful. Large windows spell out "YOGA" and flood the space with natural light (perfect timing for morning sun salutations!). The industrial-chic design with exposed ceilings and warm lighting creates an unexpectedly serene atmosphere despite being on busy Woodward Avenue. **The Practice** This was yoga as meditation in motion. The class opened with intentional breathwork and visualization, included thoughtful philosophy woven throughout, and featured intelligent sequencing of sun salutations, twists, high lunges, and some deeper hatha-style binds. The instructor provided excellent visual and verbal cuing for all levels, with props readily available. Standout elements: - Perfect balance of flow and held poses - Cultural sensitivity (no appropriative namaste) - Diverse, welcoming student community - Proper savasana that actually allowed for rest - Subtle atmospheric touches (light incense, non-intrusive music) **Facilities** The shower facilities are incredibly generous - think spa-like rather than gym-like. Beautiful tile work, modern fixtures, and plenty of space. Left feeling refreshed rather than rushed. **Bottom Line** If you want authentic yoga that challenges your mind as much as your body, in one of Detroit's most thoughtfully designed studios, this is it. The combination of spiritual depth, technical skill, and luxury amenities makes this a true urban sanctuary. Perfect for: Anyone seeking genuine yoga practice, philosophy enthusiasts, students wanting cultural awareness, and those who appreciate beautiful spaces Know before you go: Third floor location, street parking available, props provided, shower facilities available This is how yoga should be taught.

see all reviewsJust finished Sam's Saturday morning Vinyasa class and what a wonderful way to start the weekend! This studio truly welcomes everyone - I loved seeing the family-friendly atmosphere alongside the dedicated practitioners. Detroit Yoga Lab's studio is absolutely gorgeous - those floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, and the coral accent wall adds such beautiful energy. The hardwood floors felt amazing, and the gentle heating created the perfect environment for deep practice. Sam led us through such a well-rounded sequence! We explored pyramid pose for that deep hamstring stretch, flowed through classic chaturangas, and built strength in warrior I and II before moving into side angle. The transitions from high lunges to side lunges felt so smooth, and goddess pose was such a powerful hip opener. The peak poses were incredible - lotus felt accessible with Samantha's modifications, and both pigeon and lizard provided exactly the hip release I needed. Those half splits were the perfect preparation, and everything flowed so beautifully together. Booking last-minute through ClassPass was seamless, and the welcoming front desk lady made check-in a breeze. I appreciated having quality props available, and the whole space felt clean and thoughtfully designed. The other students created such a supportive energy, and I loved that families felt comfortable bringing everyone to practice together. Excellent locker space, convenient water fountain, and that stunning retail area has some gorgeous pieces for serious shoppers. Detroit Yoga Lab creates exactly what they promise - a space to show up authentically and leave feeling whole. The family-friendly vibe makes it even more better.
