YS Yin style class is a Yoga Synergy Yin styled slower class. The class includes slower moving gentle yoga postures, yet still in keeping with the Yoga Synergy method. Focus is on simple breathing, meditation & relaxation techniques. Emphasis is on grounding, slowing down, and self-nurturing. Working to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, bringing the body and mind into a calm, relaxed yet alert disposition. Over time, we work to cultivate self-awareness and improved consciousness for daily life. YS Yin can offer you techniques you can easily practice at home or even at work, invisible to others, but effective to help reduce stress levels and keep anxiety under control."Yin yoga" is based on the Taoist concepts of yin and yang, opposite and complementary principles in nature.Balance your busy “yang” lifestyles with a yin-styled class. Yin yoga works deep into the connective tissues and fascia, especially around the joints, unlocking deeply held tension. This practice involves longer holds in poses, and cultivates patience and stillness - qualities that help us work towards meditation and deep relaxation. Yin classes are for all levels of yogi, beginners to experienced.YS Yin classes complement the other classes available, by offering more time to cultivate our breathing and meditation practice, with added introductions and insights into the philosophy of yoga.YS-Yin at Bondi Junction is designed & shared by experienced yoga and meditation teacher, Sandy Edwards and also by Eriko Watanabe It doesn't matter when you join in to a YS Yin class. Each week we will be working subtly, on a practice to move energy around the body, expand our minds, grow our self-awareness and self-compassion, starting by just showing up … an hour all to ourselves to unplug, unwind, centre down, and remind ourselves how to find our inner peace.Suitable for: Anyone and everyone - no experience necessary. Particularly good for those living with a busy mind, anxiety, stress or poor sleeping habits.Duration: 60 minutes or 75 minutes

How to prepare
We've got mats and blankets you can use for no charge, but of course it's always nice to have your own mat - which you're welcome to leave at the studio if you like. Please arrive 10 - 15 minutes before class, if the door is shut then please knock loudly, the teacher may be inside setting up. Wear comfortable fitted clothes so you and the teacher can see where you are putting your body for best alignment.
How to get there
5 minutes walk from Newtown station, up Australia Street, on the same side as the Fire station, Police station and just past the pub, opposite the Australia Street Primary school. Parking in nearby streets. We also have another studio in Bondi Junction! Check it out on the ClassPass app!
