About this class
Essential Hatha Yoga is a traditional yoga class focusing on holding the poses (asanas). The poses are held anywhere from five to 10 breaths. Holding the poses this length of time greatly increases flexibility and strength while enhancing overall posture. This class is taught in a noncompetitive environment and is designed to encourage each student to know and appreciate their own body through yoga. Using breath-work and yoga postures (with modifications as needed), the goal of each class is to gently strengthen and increase flexibility in the body while exploring the connections between mind, body and spirit. This class can have a gentle flowing movement to it. Each class will include reclining, seated, standing and kneeling poses.

How to prepare
Please wear sneakers or soft soled shoes and bring water and a towel. You are welcomed to bring your own mat; however, they have plenty to share.
How to get there
There is free on-street parking as well as a parking lot behind Providence! The studio is located on the second floor.
