About this class

Power Pole® Level 1/2 (Power Pole® Beginner to Advanced Beginner) You must have taken at least one INTRO TO POWER POLE® class prior to entering this class. This class is taught by Kriston Leagh, the founder of Power Pole®, and is the first class AFTER you have taken INTRO TO POWER POLE®. This class encompasses Beginner all the way through to Advanced Beginner. It is designed to teach you the fundamentals of Pole with emphasis on proper form and technique, from which you will build your entire skill set. Proper body mechanics training with the pole will consist of pole leverage, balance, coordination, and flexibility. This series consists of fun forward spins for core and grip strength, transitions for balance and coordination, and beginner climbs and sits, followed by putting these skills into combinations. Mastering the proper pole basics, as well as strengthening all areas of your body with specific emphasis on core and grip strength, are necessities to advance to higher levels. Each class in this series will start with a beginners warm up of comprehensive skills and exercises to firm, sculpt, and strengthen your body, as well as beginners flexibility training.

How to prepare

Shorts and a tank top or sports bra is most recommended. Pole Sports consist of many leveraged tricks and wherever your skin touches, you will grip. Wherever your clothing makes contact with the pole, you will slide. You are welcome to wear leggings or layered workout gear, however, be sure to bring shorts in case you would like to change. Athletic wear is required. Class is taught in bare feet, however you may also wear athletic gear (such as ankle guards) as you see fit. Jewelry is not permitted. Wearing rings, watches, bracelets and even anklets will impede your grip and may damage the pole, or even your jewelry. Also, it's recommended that you don't apply lotion within 24 hours of your class. This will drastically impede your grip, especially on the hands and the legs.
