This class should NOT be called Pilates. Pilates is a specific methodology with specific exercises and a specific way of moving. This class basically consisted of fast squats and planks, and contained none of the slow, targeted exercises that are found in the Pilates method. This class should definitely be renamed, as it is misleading to those who don't know anything about Pilates and disappointing to someone like myself who went in looking for a real Pilates class.

BEWARE, this is not Pilates. None of the movements were slow and sustained as Pilates should be. Expect to do burpees, fast push-ups, jazzercise moves, squats with weights etc. We did exactly 1 Pilates move: bridge. As a professional ballet dancer that takes real Pilates, I was shocked at how the misleading the title of this class is. I understand that this is a combination of high intensity training and Pilates, but there was literally ZERO Pilates. My biggest concern was that the teacher gave no corrections or showed proper alignment for the movements. I saw lots of variations of the movements. People were just trying to push through with no regard for which muscles groups they were using or supposed to be using. This is a recipe for injury. I will not return nor will I recommend this class (or teacher) to anyone that is looking to build lean muscle or exercise in an intelligent way. Calling this a Pilates class is shameful.
