About this class

We Don't Do Abs, We Do Midline Stabilization! Midline stability relies not only on your core musculature, but on your body’s prime movers too. These include the muscles in your hips, glutes, hamstrings and spinal erectors. Midline stability refers to the capacity to maintain neutral spine under load through full range of motion. It takes awareness and control of all these muscles to keep the spine stiff and stable, from the top of the head to the base of the sacrum. The ability to maintain a stable midline goes the other way too; it allows you to utilize the prime movers more efficiently. Commonly asked, “what do you do for abs?” Our answer; everything, and we don’t stop at abs. Almost every movement you perform at CrossFit requires you to engage your midline and maintain a neutral spine. This is far easier said than done, particularly for those that are just starting to develop body awareness or who lack mobility. Sign up for Core Class and learn more !

How to prepare

1. Drop in First Try coming in 15 mins earlier to familiarize and let us know your concerns. 2. Ditch Loose, Baggy Gear Comfortable active gear that’s not too loose but fits well. 3. Trainer Shoes Wear training shoes, not running shoes. Many first-timers don’t know the difference, but after working out in a training shoe, you’ll sure feel that difference on your feet. 4. Fuel with Lighter Fare Before Training A little bit of protein, a little bit of carbs, nothing too crazy—just a small meal like a banana, sandwich or sports drink.
