About this class

This fusion class will bring together the joy and fun of modern hoop dance and yoga asanas to stretch, strengthen and play! Hula hoops will be used for on and off body dance moves increasing mental flexibility and coordination. You will also explore using the hoop as a prop to dive deeper into yoga poses finding the full expression of dance of flow between the postures. This is a fun, lively, energetic class for all levels of hoop and yoga!

How to prepare

*ARRIVAL POLICY - YOU MUST BE 10-15 MINUTES EARLY FOR CLASS* *Allow time for delays on the T and for finding parking around Harvard Square as class will start precisely on time. The studio door locks at the start of class, no late admittance in the studio will be permitted. Should you arrive late, please contact ClassPass* Complimentary mats are provided. Bring a bottle for water, we have filtered water available at no additional charge. No sticky socks required for barre classes. If you arrive after the start of class you will be turned away.

*ARRIVAL POLICY - YOU MUST BE 10-15 MINUTES EARLY FOR CLASS* Barre & Soul Harvard Square is located in The Garage at 36 JFK St. Cambridge, MA 02138. We are on the second level up the ramp to the right. Enter through the double doors in between Tasty Burger and the Harvard Shop.

Vinyasa Yoga with Matt
At the end of class, the teacher spoke about body type in a way that did not align with yoga philosophy at all, in my opinion. Speaking about how nice it is to get.a “yoga stomach” and “have a great body” as a result of your practice. And that is jut not a good introduction to yoga, or positive principle.

Jenn is absolutely amazing. She’s such an increddddible instructor. I love her classes and the yoga classes at barre & soul in general. Note: Krista’s classes are not great. Would suggest any other yoga instructor.

A nice, low key class. Enjoyed the chill, humorous vibe. Also, I appreciated that the instructor called out (in a nice but firm way) the person that brought a cellphone into the studio.

This class is a waste of time if you’re not well versed in your yoga practice. The teacher does not make regular suggestions for accommodations for poses. The class also does not meet the description.
