excellent instruction and fun class! My body is on fire in all the right ways.
Stretching with Teri
This class has been very disappointing since Teri took over. I have been to this class 2-3 times before and am familiar with the set up. The class had about 13 people and since most are repeat students, they know the series of stretches to complete but the instructor is supposed to give direction to first-time or novice students AND is expected to walk around to check your form and assist with any pushing for a deeper stretch (this was how it was run previously). Teri spent an hour, of a 90min class, sitting off to the side and chatting with another instructor. When asked what stretches to do she told students to just look at what the other students were doing or demoed 6 different moves quickly and then went back to talking with the other instructor. I don't know why anyone would pay for this class and this treatment.
Stretching with Serchmaa
The stretching class I went to had about 14 people and it seemed like most of them take the class regularly since they would go through all the stretches in order with little direction. The class generally proceeds together when working on different areas ie everyone is working on shoulder stretches or back exercises, but you are left to go at your own pace. Two instructors walk around to correct form or help with pressing on you to maximize your stretch. It was fun and there were a lot of nice people in the class!

very hands-off class, there's a routine that everyone does at their own pace with 2 instructors coming around to give you a push when you ask for it. it's broken down as follows: 20 min warm up, 40 min leg stretches, 20min back stretches, 20 min hand balance. it's not a contortion level. the class takes downstairs Ithanon about 30-40 kids around who are doing trampoline, beam, bars etc. it is not a relaxing environment at all.

How to prepare

Athletic apparel is required to be worn in the gym. The midsection and chest on all individuals must be fully covered at all times. The buttocks and groin must be fully covered at all times. Jeans, khakis and pants, with or without buttons, metal zippers, metal rivets, belts and belt loops are all not permitted. We have cubbies & lockers on site, but we do not provide locks. Please bring water in a closed container. We have water fountains on each level.

How to get there

We are located at 639 Frederick Street in San Francisco, directly across from historic Kezar Stadium. AcroSport's is easily accessible by both Muni Train and Bus. There is on street parking, or if you prefer there is a paid parking lot accessible from Stanyan Street. Walk up the stairs and enter the double glass doors which will take you to our Front Office.
