About this studio

The Y Rowing Centre, on Melbourne's beautiful Albert Park Lake, provides an opportunity for people of all ages to learn & enjoy rowing in a safe & friendly atmosphere. Monthly on the 1st SUNDAY Come & Try is a fun session for Beginners.. You will receive basic tuition in crews of 4 in an Olympic-style boats. You don't need to bring your own crew as there are always lots of active beginners, like yourself, ready to make up a crew... and you won't get wet unless it rains. Unlike canoes, rowing shells don't roll over, so you can learn to row all year round. MAYBE YOU ROWED AT SCHOOL, Uni or Surf Boats ? then join us for a great row or scull on Saturdays at 8.45am or Wednesdays at 5.45pm. These are casual sessions, no club memberships are required. Just Book a Class & join a Crew.

How to prepare

All you need is a thick pair of socks, t-shirt, bike shorts or track pants and a warm top during the winter.

How to get there

Located on the ground floor at the Park Function Centre on Lakeside Drive at the St. KILDA end of Albert Park Lake in a large white building named “The Park Events” which is opposite the Pullman Hotel on Queens Road. There is Meter parking available in a Car Park beside the building or on Lakeside Drive, so have some coins handy. You could be joining rowers from outside our group in crews. You will not get wet unless it rains, so you can try Crew Rowing all year round.

What is ClassPass?
