Full Body Friday (121 Ludlow L.E.S.)

Kenny was great - super energy and kept everyone motivated. This was an intense class which definitely got my heart rate up and sweat pumping! I didn’t love the no shoes on the floor and therefore the lack of grip but that’s just me!

    PRIMAL

Tricia‘a class was challenging in a great way! She makes an effort to know the students’ names. I liked how she not only gave verbal cues but also did some of the movements with us. My only complaint is the temperature - I wish we had more ventilation, because it gets SO HOT and SO SWEATY. I’ve been to her class three times and all three times I had to lay in child’s pose for the last 10 minutes because I get so dizzy.

Class was AMAZING! My first Barry’s in NYC post-Covid and it was awesome. I agree with other reviewers that the studio is a bit small, but it didn’t impact me and I just used the mirrors if I was ever lost. Josiah had great energy and great music!

    Flow Yoga

Flow with Mikee is fantastic! I’ve been doing yoga for years & have gone to dozens of studios in NY & BK. He’s a true gem! Highly recommend. My only critic is the studio itself... I find the Crunch studio incredibly cold for its yoga classes. To the point of being uncomfortable. I really wish they would turn off the air & fans for the yoga classes.

The class is really just a short handstand workshop- which is great because its every week and doesn’t cost as much as other workshops do. We did a solid amount of conditioning on and off the mat so its great for beginners and more advanced students

    transformational breathwork with daniella

The meat of Daniella’s class was really, really great. I would prefer a much shorter intro before class and no debrief after class. I found the intro to be repetitive and intense (I don’t need to hear a sample scream and I think she could demonstrate the concepts while teaching in the actual class instead of teaching techniques before getting started. In a yoga class poses are taught in real time not at the beginning to prep, and I’d like to see that approach here as I see in other meditation and breath work classes). The intro took at least 4x too long and unfortunately the debrief after class took me from being relaxed to being a bit more stressed again hearing about her love of breath work and listening to others’ experiences and debating with myself whether or not to share about my (truly wonderful) experience. Overall I highly recommend but I think there is room for improvement <3

    Functional Fitness

First time, was the only one there at 7p (in btw Xmas and NYE, hence unusual attendance), but still a great experience. Cole still held class, made me feel super comfortable and had great energy / knowledge. Workout seemed oriented on a series of sets, usually with an EMOM anchoring the middle, not quite HIIT but there’s something in each set to make sure the heart rate stays up. Class would be tough if it’s your first time EVER working out, but still very accessible if you say do some dumbbell/kettlebell strength and cycling/HIIT type classes elsewhere - but want to extend your skill set w/ say basic lifting.

    AQUA FLOW - Coed

Amazing! I put this class off for so long because I was intimidated by cycling..and water. Tatyana is a great patient teacher, very motivating. The class was slow paced with great music but that is what I needed to deal with life stressors.

The gym is very clean and welcoming, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Freddy, the instructor, is an excellent teacher and ensures that you receive a great workout while also learning proper boxing technique. I’ve been to most of the boxing gyms in the city, Fox Boxing Gym is definitely the best.
