About this class
The Rocket is an uplifting series originally crafted as a way of modifying traditional Ashtanga; a challenging sequence that involves fun/funky transitions with a focus on bhandas, breath and drishti. The Rocket is all about self-expression, moving toward your goals and calming the nervous system while strengthening the body and mind. Advanced classes are ideal for the regular practitioner or for those ready to commit to their practice. The pace is demanding and the instruction is less extensive than an All Levels class. You will practice inversions in this class, including handstands and forearm stands. Each class begins with sun salutations, progresses through a standing sequence building energy for the seated sequence, and closes with the Ashtanga finishing sequence. Students can expect a full-spectrum practice with backbends, arm balances + inversions.

How to prepare
Come at least 5 minutes early-there is often a last minute rush for classes. (Late arrivals will forfeit space to wait-listed students.) Bring your own, or rent mats for $2. Cubbies are provided for non-valuables--bring valuables to class with you.
How to get there
Auto Parking There is on-street free and metered parking available around the studio. There is a 2-hour time limit between 8am and 6pm, Monday-Friday. Bike Parking We offer wall-hanging bike racks behind our gated entrance and bike racks on the sidewalk-secure your bike to the racks with your lock. We are on or near Bike Routes 30, 32, 47 and “the wiggle.” Transit We are four blocks from the N Judah stop at Duboce Park, and less than one block from Muni Bus lines: 24 Divisadero, 6 Parnassus and 71 Haight/Noriega.
