About this class

HOW IT WORKS: Been to the barre a few times? In this class you will be provided opportunities to tailor our unique formula of strength training, cardio, and stretching that will rapidly transform your body. Using weights, a playground ball, and your own bodyweight as resistance, you will create lean sculpted muscle, rev up your metabolic rate, and feel a sense of accomplishment after each rep. WHO IT’S DESIGNED FOR: Anyone looking for quick results and a challenging workout that will meet you wherever you are on your fitness journey. We recommend clients take at least four Physique Beginner classes before taking Signature level, no dance experience necessary. BARRE TIPS: At Physique 57 we work out on a carpet. Please bring socks!

How to prepare

Please note that first time students must arrive at the studio at least 15 minutes prior to class start time. First time clients are not permitted into class once it starts. You must wear closed-toe full coverage socks in the studio during class; no shoes or bare feet are permitted. Grippy socks are available for purchase.

Signature II with Courtney
Courtney is an absolute force! Wish she taught more Bc that class was hands down one of the toughest Sig II classes I’ve ever taken in the 4+ years that I’ve been coming to P57. Not only was all of glutes done standing at the barre (holy burn), but she had us transition immediately into our thigh intermission set without the usual stretch inbetween sides. Endurance was her chosen theme of the day + class surely lived up to the name - challenging, energetic, muscle fatiguing + sweat inducing.

Thighs were on fire tonight. We covered Curtsy lunge + Upright small v, then parallel round back chair with the ball into Incline chair, Rocking horse + Flat back chair in the lengthy 2nd set, with profile incline parallel / upright high heel as our glute intermission. Only negative is that Sarah has a tendency to either lose track or not realize that we do more/less sets of certain moves on one side vs the other, so we’re never truly ‘even’. Also was NOT fond of the playlist - very reggaeton / trap heavy.

It was good and I’m sore today, BUT I WISH THERE WAS MORE FOCUS ON CORRECTING FORM. I’ve taken SIG II downtown but needed help in this class. I tried to ask but couldn’t get to the teacher. Please demonstrate the workout by doing it with us OR correct form.

What is ClassPass?
