With many relationships, the end goal is a romantic night out, a loving look into one another’s eyes and an invitation to spend the rest of your lives together. But in NYC, a much more tantalizing option is a romantic night in, not looking at your phones for a while and a spare key to an apartment with central air. Here are 17 things most dating New Yorkers would happily hear over a proposal.

1. “Know what would be a great way to save money? If you moved into my rent-stabilized apartment."

2. “I think I’m going to try to get into cooking.”

3. “The L’s not running. Let’s just stay in tonight and watch Netflix.”

4. “I deleted Tinder.”

5. “Good thing my Grandma held onto that brownstone. It’ll be ours someday."

6. “You saw a mouse? Wait right there, I"ll be over in 10.”

7. "I know the guy behind the bar, we can drink for free."

8. “Here’s my Seamless password."

9. “I love spending the night at your place.”

10. “We should spend the weekend at my family’s house in Montauk—they never use it!”

11. “I’ll clear my schedule to help you move.”

12. “Just bring your laundry over here and do it in my apartment."

13. “Looks like you’ve really been taking advantage of that ClassPass!”

14. “I ran out and grabbed bagels while you were sleeping.”

15. “My affordable housing lottery application was just approved!"

16. “You can take my car anytime you want.”

17. “Here. Just use a swipe on my MetroCard.”
