About this studio

The Simply Barre technique is a total body workout. Each 50-minute class follows the Lotte Berk Method, which fuses ballet, yoga, Pilates and fitness conditioning. Thoughtful muscle movements focus on position, alignment and movement (in that order) to strengthen core while avoiding strain on joints, ligaments and tendons. Classes, which can be tailored for all shapes, ages and abilities, start with a short warm-up followed by planks, push-ups and upper body exercises with light hand weights. Make your way to the barre to sculpt thighs and tone your glutes before hitting the mat to work on defining the perfect abs.

How to prepare

Sticky socks are required for all classes. ATTN new users! You must arrive to your first class experience at Simply Barre 15 minutes early to fill out waiver information and get a tour of the studio. If you do not arrive 15 minutes early, you will be turned away. Thanks so much for understanding!

How to get there

Just a block from the corner of 'A' street and Broadway, where Fort Point, South Boston and the South End come together. Free street parking. Broadway T-stop is two blocks away.

Frances was friendly and offered helpful corrections. I really disliked the heavy carpet, though. It was extremely uncomfortable in planks, etc. I actually felt like I got a mild case of rug burn. Otherwise, class was well structured and a good workout.

What is ClassPass?
