About this studio

The Pure Barre technique is low-impact, protecting your joints by avoiding any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk. The technique works to defy gravity by tapering everything in and lifting it up! Please be aware classes start on time and clients should arrive 15 minutes early. Doors will lock at the start of class. Socks are required!

Pure Barre with Anna
Pure Barre does a terrible job giving alignment cues for their exercises. They talk so quickly into a muffled microphone and the teacher often doesn't demo their instructions so unless you go to Pure Barre all the time you have to just guess what you think you're supposed to do. They also don't give you modifications for bad wrists, shoulder, knees etc. And you might as well not do any stretching in this class; the stretches they do are held for less than 5 seconds. Also, there was a teacher-in-training who sat in on my class today, but at no point did the instructor of the class introduce or explain this. It took me a good 15 minutes to figure out that the woman sitting in the corner, taking notes, and sipping juice was not just a lazy member of the class. I go to Pure Barre once every few months and each time I think "it can't be as bad as I remember"...and then I go, and it's just as bad as I remember. You should go to Barre3 instead.

It was a good workout! The only downside was that the music was very loud it drowned out the instructors voice

I go to barre for the booty workout. Ive taken about 10 classes at this point across a couple cities and I still get frustrated. I wish the instructor would demo more and I wish the music wouldnt be louder than the instructor. (I promise Im under 30! Haha)

First time doing Pure Barre.. It definitely works muscles that you didn't know existed; I was sweating the whole time and I'm a quite a bit sore the next day. Emily was really encouraging and helped me get the moves down.
