Gentle Yoga for Beginners with Serina
This was my first time at the studio, impulsively for a quick flow on my way home from work Friday. The studio is across from my office but sadly I do not think I will return. This was not a well guided flow. The transitions between poses were not thoughtful, sequential or dictated, and it was disjointed as a result. Additionally, I rented a mat which had “guidelines” on it for where the hands and feet should be placed. The instructor insisted that I use the guidelines instead of allowing me to listen to my body with over 10 years of regular practice and knowledge of my own hips/hyper extension tendencies.
Restorative Yoga with Kelsey
Kelsey was great! The class was very gentle
Vinyasa Flow with Yazmin
Excellent teacher, nice studio. Lots of personal attention.
Twist, Flow & Detox. with Lola
Lola was amazing! Best class ever to stretch out and sweat after a long day in a chair. :)
Free Community Class with Serina
I’m used to much more vigorous flow classes so I personally do not find a lot of breathing and forward folds exciting. But it was maybe good for complete beginners? The girl in the back took a nap in shavasana for the entire duration of class.
Restorative Yoga with Viktoriia
This class was great, I felt so refreshed afterwards.a good balance of poses and stretches.
Atmananda Open/ Advanced with Alison
Someone subbed in for Allison who I didn’t enjoy as much (placed less value on flow between poses and rushed us a bit, wasn’t very mindful of creating a relaxing atmosphere in the room before and after class, etc.) Still happily coming back. Just a hazard of doing yoga at a training studio where yoga instructors-in-training sometimes sub in for established instructors.
Intermediate Vinyasa Flow with Valeria
The yoga itself was fine. The teacher Valeria was very nice and gave great instruction. But the environment was so strange. 2 out of 4 students seemed to be teacher trainers and they had conversations with instructor and owner in the lobby without welcoming anyone else. One of the TT even video taped herself the whole time in the front row (WHY!) and the phone kept falling. After class no thank you or how was it, the owner starting talking again with the teacher trainers about where to get lunch. I simple "how was class" would do a lot to convince me to come back. Strange approach to a community. Plus they make their own mats with alignment cues on them (cool) but the teacher gave me a medium size one at 5'2" (not cool). It didn't fit at all -- were they out of small? Also room very cold. I'd go again bc the class was fine and it's close to my work. But wouldn't say it was a great studio.
Restorative Yoga with Kelsey
Great for meditative practice but not much in the way of usual poses
Restore. Reset. Refresh. with Alison
it was just okay. seemed a little haphazard and the poses weren't held as long as I normally do in restorative.
