    DASH 28

Matt had awesome music, great energy, and kept it positive. The only thing about the DASH 28 class is that the strength portion is too short to focus on all body sections, they should do different regions on different days of the week or per class to keep it focused.

Love this class, but I have to comment on the locker room. Love that they have showers unlike their other locations and Malin and Goetz products. However, there have been a few times now where the products were empty in the showers and I had to wait naked, in a towel, in the coed locker room for them to refill. They also only have one hair dryer. For $20, it would be of significant value add to their clients. Final thing is I'd prefer if they gave out more than one towel. With a coed bathroom especially, where you need to dry off and change immediately after showering, one towel doesn't really do the trick.

    EXCEED: The Workout

If youve never done HIIT training, and even if you have, this will be a shock to your system. It is high octane non-stop make you wish you didnt have whatever you had for lunch training. No rest. Heart rate stays up the whole time from one movement to the next. James makes it fun though. The staff is very friendly and professional. I do wish the beginning ladder was something more structured rather than everyone going at their own pace while performing the exercises on the board, which were like 12.

Rebecca is the absolute best. Her class is always challenging and fun with a mix of music genres and intervals. Expect it all - hills, sprints, long pushes - she will push you to your max but also understands people are at different skill levels so offers an accessible torque range. She gives precise instructions so you know what's expected of you. She's also soo sweet and friendly! A ride with Rebecca would appeal to anyone. One of Flywheel's best for sure.

Full Body - Lower Focus (60 Minutes)

I was visiting NYC so I’ve never visited this location or taken a class with Casey before. But it was one of the best Barry’s classes I’ve ever taken. Casey’s instructions were very clear and demonstrated each move/exercise. The treadmill workouts were challenging. The floor exercises were lower body focused but we also had some upper body exercises in the mix as well. I highly recommend Casey’s classes to anyone who likes Barry’s Bootcamp.

I feel like alex is a hidden gem amongst the exhale instructors - he consistently brings a thorough + incredibly challenging profile with an extensive arm series and longer thighs than most...think we covered 6 different positions today! I will say though that this studio needs far better air circulation - I was literally dripping all throughout class as I do when doing true cardio, never barre or pilates.

    Boxing

Excellent coach. Ran a well-rounded, intense but manageable class, and gave patient and effective one-on-one instruction to students throughout. Im a lefty, and should fight southpaw, but rarely do bc boxing instructors always teach traditional style and its hard for me to adjust. But Willie took the time to give me specific southpaw instructions during the more detailed combinations. Also I got a better sweat than I have at a boxing class in a long time. The warm up, the core section, the boxing rounds, they were killer, in a room that I suspect was kept hot on purpose. Not a dry brow in the house! One minor somewhat related complaint. The studio gets a bit stinky of feet and other stuff. A little of the powerful air freshener I’ve noticed at other boutique gyms would go a long way here!

    Figure 4 Barre (Open)

Lindsay is without a doubt the best figure 4 instructor - clear, concise directions with a brutal class profile that hits everything. She incorporated the ring today for abs, glutes, and the final pelvic tilt sequencing so our bodies were on fire. Thighs were incredibly challenging and made me shake which rarely happens as an athlete. Highly suggest that you take advantage of their spa like locker room & apartment sized showers. Trooper Core Strength Camp

I have a love hate relationship with this class. Its crazy how hard this class is. There was a power section and strength section. The power section didnt feel like much but the strength section was insane. The exercises (TRX and pike ups with gliders) looked easy but to do them properly with full range of motion and in a controlled way is absolutely killer. Core is the hardest muscle group to work. If you pride yourself on lifting heavy or running fast, this will be a humbling experience because theres almost no weight and its very slow paced. Im going to incorporate this class into my training more even though I hate it. I kinda wish there was an easier version of this so that I could work up to it because I felt like I couldnt even stabilize in some of the exercises so I did very little reps. Maybe next time Ill get better.

Dana put together really great sequences for gently opening up the body and stimulating circulation. Really appreciated her encouraging energy and inspiring words at the beginning of class. Also loved that the studio has lots of windows that let in great natural light and found the scent of eucalyptus in the air refreshing. Power Vinyasa PM - HOT

Claudia was great instructor! Really easy going vibes but led us through an awesome flow. Definitely a fast paced flow, but I really felt like I had a good workout. The studio itself is clean, but a bit cramped. The locker room is teeny tiny, barely 4 people can be in there at a time, and there are no lockers or cubbies to store your stuff. There is also a Tae Kwon Do/Karate studio downstairs which made the floors and walls rattle a ton, making it a bit hard to concentrate during the practice.

Only thing Id suggest is curating a more fun/motivational playlist to support the intensity of the workout. Intense but short workout. Class is 45 minutes but it flys by. Todays class was 8 stations, each station was 20 seconds of work 10 seconds of rest, 7 times through. So youre only really working out 18 minutes...be prepared, no shoes are allowed for this workout and there is no water station to fill up your bottles

Wonderful class, wish I could wakeup each morning with this class.. hint, hint to the studio ;). Instructor was lovely as well. The only thing I would change is music that's morw relaxing, found it a little distracting in the first half of class but otherwise, loved this class, thanks!

    CKO Class

I haven't done kickboxing in a couple of years and the instructor was conscious in making sure I was keeping up and adjusted my technique. Good mix of bags and other workouts (e.g. planks, squats, etc.)

Wonderful class! Nikky was very attentive to students' abilities making this a great class not only for beginners but also for students with some experience. Helpful cues for exercises and to ensure correct. Great workout strengthening core muscles and also stretching and lengthening.

I cant wait to take a full Pilates class with Richie! This class teaches you all of the Pilates machine basics and proper body placement. I would recommend taking a second class afterwards if this is your only workout for the day.

Stephan was a great teacher! The class size was very full but he still paid individual attention to peoples (and my) form. Because Im such a beginner I always feel intimidated in classes but felt very welcome here.
