I thought Matt W. was outstanding. He started class by announcing that there would be three rounds: 8 minutes, 10 minutes and 6 minutes. He explained everything clearly and gave lots of demos. He was helpful - setting up bands and putting them away. He was encouraging and corrected form. And his runs were challenging but within reason. THANK YOU! Really wonderful class.

This was the best Barry's class I've been to. I REALLY liked the format of eight-minute treadmill intervals, each consisting of two-minute runs spaced out by recovery walks. That felt much more reasonable and attainable than the classes that involve 21-minute treadmill intervals, where it's so long that you just know it's impossible and don't try as hard. Also Allie's floor work was easy to understand and she gave the most individual attention I've had at Barry's - including pushing me to hit my fastest sprint pace (three times)!

Fun class, a lot of nice people, varying circuit exercises. It was definitely challenging, dont get me wrong. But the teacher kept asking me if I was scared. The instructions at the beginning take almost 10 mins then you have a warm up, so youre basically only doing like 30 mins of real hard work. If it was a full hour then yes I would be scared.

Great class; not as challenging as other classes I’ve taken here but its nice that this studio never does the same routine twice. It’s always a completely different class. Only complaint is that this class was way oversold, we were on top of one another which was a bit uncomfortable, especially when you’re doing kicks and extensions outside your personal area of space.

When you stand still your whole body is vibrating and you cant see straight. But I still recommend trying it out!

    Total Body Reformer Workout

I liked the class a lot Heagan’s moves were a nice routine. Challenging. It was a good full body workout. The 5 stars are for the instructor and class she taught. I do agree with other reviews about the quality of the equipment. The machines are well past their prime, shoulder pads are cracked and every time instructions are given it’s the black machines do one thing and white machines die something else. Both are old.

Derek was such a great teacher and so funny! The workout consists of a warm up, several stations involving some kind of heavy lifting (we had 4 stations that we did for 10 min each), and then stretching. Ok this class is HARD. To give you an idea of how difficult it is, the WARMUP is a series of 50 burpees. However, don’t let that discourage you. The instructors and fellow classmates are super supportive and encouraging no matter what your pace is. The instructor Cristiano was so helpful and made sure I had alternate workouts for some of the harder parts (pull ups). All in all, it was one of the most gruesomely amazing workouts I’ve had in a long time. FYI, I was the only female in the class. The only minor negative I had was that at 7am there was no parking (permit only until 8am). So give yourself extra time to circle around.

Wanted it to focus more on technique and self-defense moves- that was maybe only a third of the class. The rest was in cardio drills or kicking and punching the bags. Be prepared to have rough contact with other people in class. There was an odd number of students so a group of three had to practice a lot which was kind of annoying considering the instructor could’ve jumped in to make it even and give everyone the same amount of practice time. Precision 1 & 2

Mila is a well-trained, professional, thoughtful and caring teacher. Class was challenging and I’m thrilled to learn new exercises on the Allegro 2 which I’ve never done before. She cares to teach the correct form and explains which muscles to activate so one can receive the full benefit of the Pilates practice.
