    Katie is one of my favorite instructors. She gives the best verbal cues and is one of very few I can listen to rather than watch for instructions. Her classes are always challenging but never intimidating. Avea is a great facility with new, clean equipment (love the cleaning products they use too!) and small class sizes. It’s a real gem of a studio with great instructors.

    Fun workout and positive instructor with good demos. (Side note: this studio is so filthy and janky. My machine was missing a spring so I couldn’t modify my resistance per the instructions and there was so much hair on the ground under the machine it was like a rug. Bodyrok is like the poor man’s SLT or solidcore.)

    "Hard" Core: 45min Virtual Mat Pilates

    This class delivered. I liked the progression of the exercises and the wide ranges of motion. Today's class was very well organized and well paced. I didn't have a pilates ball, but I'd really recommend you have one to take this class, for back support. Marina has incredible form. I had a hard time following along at first, but got used to the way the class was going to be after about ten minutes.

If you are new, I would definitely recommend getting to the class early to have them show you how to use the machine before class.     Amazing class - Helen managed to cram everything into 45 mins, but why the short classes? I think of Gramercy Pilates as a place that respects classical tradition — 45 minutes isn’t enough to work, stretch, and release. Please bring back hour long class!

    Haven’t been to core in many years. moved recently and saw them back on classpass live. I think they reduced the studio space by half. Still very well stocked classical pilates studio. Anna was subbing class. She is a great classical instructor. Very articulate. 30/30 reformer / tower. nice paced. i don’t love the leather/ wood handle reformers as they hurt a bit. i love that they don’t force you to wear socks which is how pilates should be done!

    Sweetest pilates instructor! Was a tough at home pilates workout, great ab workout. Needed a towel and 2 small pound weights or similar. Some moves were new and creative, and reminded me of reformer pilates which is great because I haven’t been able to use a reformer in so long!

    I can see why people love this class and why people don’t. It’s a very difficult workout. I consider myself advanced in Pilates (been consistently practicing for 3 years, 3-6x wk) and this was tough. I also burned a significant number more calories in this class than traditional Pilates reformer classes. Personally, I’m a purist and enjoy a heavier emphasis on core connection and using your own body weight. I felt like I was never doing anything exactly correctly although I’m sure it gets easier with time. I’ll be back but will be keeping reg Pilates in my routine. That said, Travis was so awesome and motivating and a great teacher for this first timer. Appreciated the kick ass workout. ((By the way, you need a code to get in the door!!! Chk your email!))
