This is the best class there. The other classes feel like to are just paying for a treadmill. This is mostly running but then a good about the if kettlebell however I do wish there was a bit more encouragement and push in class but that’s just the inner me wanting a boot camp type class .

    Signature FHIX

One of the top 10 classes that I've had here - the 5 minute chipper was an intense way to begin after the warmup, then we had a 16 min 6 station circuit & a 4 min FHIX, followed by a 3 min FHIX. I literally splayed out on the floor once we finished. That said, these workouts are what you make of them - if you choose light weights or don't go hard, you're not gonna have the same response once class is over. You should be dripping in sweat and barely able to walk down the stairs.

5 starts for Ellie! Her class is amazing. I would take away a point though bc prior to class start the assistant insisted on raising my handlebars when I had them as I liked. 2 min into the class I had to have her adjust them back down to how I had them (and always have them).

Sarah’s class was the toughest class I’ve very taken at Y7 (both around NYC and in LA). She had awesome, unique flow sequences and challenging modifications for advanced students. I appreciated her fast pace even during the “down time” in between flows. It felt like not a minute of class was wasted. I hope to find her on the UES schedule more often. Can’t wait to take a class with her again!

Loved sarah. Not sure why anyone would write anything bad about her she was clear and very attentive to form. My only complaint is that the physique facilities need an update. Carpet is worn and the two showers arent enough. Going before work is so stressful.

    EXCEED: The Workout

Killer class tonight - love the new assault bike additions (finally)! Skylar does a terrific job splitting up her classes into a combo of circuits, EMOMs + AMRAPs, so we always get a good mix of strength + conditioning work. Tonight covered everything from swings, reverse lunges, wall balls, sumo deadlifts, box jumps, TRX rows, TRX core work, pushups, push presses plus the row + bike. If youre lifting heavy, making out your reps + really putting in the effort, these exceed classes will surely torch you!

Omg I loved this profile tonight! One of the best in months due to its variety of movements, timing breakdown + longevity: 4 stations, 3 moves at each done AMRAP style for 4 mins, :30 rest, then 3 mins :30 rest, then a 2 min sprint of the cardio move (run, row, bike, prison step ups). We covered sumo DL, goblet squats, burpees, box jumps, chest press, v ups, push-ups, plate GTO, overhead plate lunges + jump switch lunges. Only slight caveat is that I wish more upper body work was covered to hit the back, but otherwise, this was put together incredibly well.

Awesome class tonight as always - I walked into Spin after barre class, feeling beaten up from a rough day, setting the expectations low for my output & ended doing the exact opposite. Her energy & ability to motivate pushed me through class, super close to my PR. Love her class layout & verbal cueing. Exhale Barre

The ONLY exhale instructor I’ll take anymore, especially now that these classes cost a Whooping 12 credits, and the level of challenge has drastically dropped to almost a basic level, now catered to unfit, out of shape ppl. Prepare to work in his class. Alex is non stop, wasting zero time in the full hour - we covered 4 thigh positions including a glute intermission, then a set of glute work at both the barre + floor, topped off with 2 sets plank work, rather lengthy flat back + round back core sets, adding to the opening arm work that included 14 movements. Excellent coach. Ran a well-rounded, intense but manageable class, and gave patient and effective one-on-one instruction to students throughout. Im a lefty, and should fight southpaw, but rarely do bc boxing instructors always teach traditional style and its hard for me to adjust. But Willie took the time to give me specific southpaw instructions during the more detailed combinations. Also I got a better sweat than I have at a boxing class in a long time. The warm up, the core section, the boxing rounds, they were killer, in a room that I suspect was kept hot on purpose. Not a dry brow in the house! One minor somewhat related complaint. The studio gets a bit stinky of feet and other stuff. A little of the powerful air freshener I’ve noticed at other boutique gyms would go a long way here!

Dana put together really great sequences for gently opening up the body and stimulating circulation. Really appreciated her encouraging energy and inspiring words at the beginning of class. Also loved that the studio has lots of windows that let in great natural light and found the scent of eucalyptus in the air refreshing. Front desk could’ve been warmer and more welcoming, but I guess even yogis need a day off from letting their inner light of love shine.

Amazing class! She definitely turned things up a notch + gave us longer power sets of thighs + glutes to really get the burn going today. What I love about Nicole's class is that she explains the poses in details and the pace is slower so that the students can really focus on the right alignments, not just quickly flow through the sequences. Her sequences of poses are well thought out. Even though it is a foundation class, it is challenging because when you are really focusing on engaging the right muscles to achieve the right alignment make you work extra hard and sweat a lot! Nicole is also very friendly and making people new to yoga feel at ease and not intimidated. She goes around to correct forms and give modifications for people with injuries. A wonderful practice!

    Mixed Level Reformer Class

Anne is the best! So grateful for her enthusiastic willingness to share her expert knowledge of how to stretch and strengthen the body. It’s always a pleasure to learn from her. She’s by far the most caring and creative Pilates instructor I’ve found in NYC.

Atsko has great energy and put a smile on everyones face. The class was fun with a lot of variation so I didnt get bored. Atsko provided modifications and advanced options to make the moves work for everyone with great form. One of the best mat classes Ive taken.

The format is more focused on cardio than other barre classes, which is a nice change. Studio is really nice. Class was pretty full.

    SPINCORE BEATS

As a first timer i could have used an intro to the bike and the board from the instructor, took me awhile to understand what was going on on my own. The spinning portion had great intervals, really pushed you to work hard. Followed by intense tricep and oblique circuits, it was a well rounded class!

    Vinyasa Flow 2-3 w/ Music

This was a surprisingly small, intimate class for Yogaworks, so the instructor was able to give more personalized attention. We covered some more advanced twists, binds, and arm balances than I'm used to seeing in group classes, but in a way that wasn't intimidating if you weren't quite there yet.

I got lucky to be the only one signed up for the class so I essentially had a private session, but even if there had been a full class, the experience was top notch, a great workout with a fantastic instructor and unlike any place I’ve ever been! I will be back and back and back as often as they will let me!! Thank you, Shock therapy, for the great new addition to the New York City exercise landscape! You are taking it to a whole new level!
