Truly amazed today by the dedication of the Switch staff. Their jobs are hard enough, demo’ing at each station, but now they are disinfecting everything in between sets. I am doing my best to maintain social distance, and to contribute everyone remaining healthy, but I will seriously go crazy if I also don’t work out! Just wanted to let you know how much your efforts are appreciated. Thank you!! ????

Babette is a lovely human and a great teacher. I will say that Barre3 is way overcrowding the classes, which is unfortunate. It’s really hard to do moves on the mat, and we spent half the class on the mats. I’d prefer more time upright and more cardio work.

Merav gave a great class! It was a good mix of restorative work and Pilates strength training. I went in to class today super sore from kickboxing yesterday, feeling out muscularly out of sorts & as though I couldn’t stand up straight. Her clear instruction & expert sequencing brought me back life! I wouldn’t say she’s Classical Pilates but she’s not strictly contemporary either. Everything she taught made sense, was useful and productive.

    Body Camp: SWEAT

So the reviews are true, Christine is actually really cool and welcoming. She takes the time to talk to you, remembers your name, asks you about injuries 1:1. She does go around during the circuit correcting form so you don’t hurt yourself. The only thing I don’t like is the warmup because you have to line up with others to do it and it’s not necessarily smooth, like you’re forced to keep up which isn’t a good feeling right off the bat to start or you’re waiting for the person in front of you. Also, since the space is small and because you’re zig zagging back and forth between stations, there’s a lot of times you almost bump into someone or vice versa. That said, it’s a tough, challenging workout and the instructor is really great so I’d still highly recommend it and plan on going back.

So relaxing. This is not Yin. This is restorative which is more passive laying stretching poses. Almost meditative. Time of day is weird to me (11:15a) I randomly had a day off so I could take this class which I really enjoyed but is more of a senior citizen crowd. Wish it was offered at more assessable times. I appreciate teachers who really understand the poses and the body, and Linsey certainly falls into that class. She doesn’t just blindly adjust you; she assesses your specific body needs to find the best approach to help you fit the archetype. Adjustments are supportive while also reframing the experience. On top of all the magical restorative work Linsey’s mastery of sound healing and playing the crystal bowls at the end of practice added a magical touch. Six stars for this one!

Overall good exercises and sequence but I wouldve liked it better if Shareal had given more cues about breath or alignment or imagery about how to do the exercises. Just counting (sometimes too quickly for the time it took for some in the class to actually do the exercise) and saying the exercises isnt really teaching. I also wouldve preferred to use the springs on the Cadillac instead of just doing mat exercises for the glute sequence.

So good. Liv has a seemingly endless supply of energy and her coaching style/language is just right. I hadn’t been to the studio in a while and I love the new shower/changing room situation. The one thing I’d say that wasn’t great, is that the music was so loud it was hard to hear some of the cueing, including during the yoga portion, so I’d have to look around and see what other people were doing sometimes to figure out what I was supposed to be doing.
