    DANCE: HIP HOP

I love walker! He is by far the most talented and advanced dancer and instructor at Uforia, no question (just look at his Instagram vs the others) But unfortunately that is also why he has some reviews stating that he is too challenging and people get frustrated. I love that his class is challenging and his choreo is more thoughtful! So it just depends what you are looking for - if you want something super basic and uninspired cheerleading moves then I would advise the others. If you want to actually improve and grow as a dancer and have fun / get in a workout while doing it then Walker is your best bet!

Finally have a water fountain! Also, been going to marina BodyRok for about a year and the Polk location is by far my favorite even though furthest from my house. Love the light sightup, music, teachers are great, etc. Thanks Ysabel for a great workout! Please do a later time one!

Love this class and Zac is great. But we happened to do a floor / abs round and it was actually too difficult, which I normally wouldn’t say. It was piking and side piking back to back with no breaks. I don’t think it was achievable for anyone in the room

Fun workout and instructor! Was glad someone asked for the fans to be turned on, Nina said she typically turns them on during our first sprint, but it was already 15 mins into the class and I don’t know if I could have lasted longer without fans

I had an idea of what the class was going to be about from the video on their site, but I had no idea how much I would enjoy it! Jessica provided ample instruction and guidance. The front desk staff was also very friendly and welcoming. The workout was also very challenging and fun!

Tanya is simply one of the best instructors in SF. I’ve been practicing in the city for over 4 years and always prioritizing practicing with Tanya at Moxie when I can. She does a great job of offering a class for all levels and keeping an eye on safe posture. She is also just the best human, which is icing on the cake!

Jacqueline had great positive energy throughout the entire class. I came in for my first time feeling unmotivated, but she turned my attitude right around. Her dance moves were easy-to-follow and the music was fun and lively. Would highly recommend!

    Barre Bootcamp [All Levels]

As always, the instructor had great energy and provided clear direction with modifications as needed. Her playlist is awesome, but in my opinion, it was a little hard to hear her since the music was so loud. Overall, it was a challenging class I'd highly recommend.

Luke is a tough but kind instructor. He pays special attention to form and makes sure every student understands how to perform an exercise. I found the class challenging and fun, and I loved that there was a mix of both genders at a gym that women might traditionally shy away from.

    Pole 1 (Beginner)

Anna is an AMAZING teacher and also demonstrated everything she taught beautifully. I was surprised at how much I could do as a beginner, given that I have very little upper body strength. I couldn't do almost everything for a lot of class, and then discovered I could do some of those things toward the end of class. My body adjusted!

    Full Body Workout

Great workout! The class feels like a non-stop personal training session with an athletic trainer, yet you're in a class setting. Lots of squats, lunges, push-ups, crunches, utilization of kettle bells in ways I've never thought of using them, sliders... basically a bomb full body workout. I'm sore as I'm typing this.

They’ve changed the class. It used to be run by Aleks, but now they’ve combined it with the normal CrossFit class and pushed it 30 mins earlier. Attendance has dwindled. I miss Aleks but thankfully the gym owner who runs the combined class is still great. I’ve only done one of the new format classes so far, so don’t take my opinion as gospel yet, but so far, it’s still a rockin class! Bootcamp-style weightlifting class with lots of cardio.

    Pilates Mat

This gym is located next to the Tonga Room inside the hotel. The locker room is pretty nice, but the class space is a little awkward since when you walk down the stairs youre basically inside it. Denice was super nice and our class only had three students. We did mat Pilates using balls as props. I had not done Pilates in a long time and this class made me remember why I love it. Its fun and relaxing and all those small movements count. The hour flew by! The one big drawback was the music - it was Muzak type music of mostly pop hits, although they did throw in the Game or Thrones theme in there too. It was annoying enough that I even would have preferred no music, and Im big on music during workouts. It sounded like we were in an elevator for a whole hour. Music aside, great class and Ill be back!

Con: doesn't focus on techniques and only has 4 poles in the room for 11 students taking the intro. Pro: their "just let go and dance" method does help me "feel" and internalize the moves and transitions better than trying to memorize it.

Filipino Martial Arts ( Basic Class )

This is a great place to train for practical self defense! I walked in brand new and found everyone to be kind and supportive. The regulars are very fluid and well-practiced. I was taught simple drills and sent to practice both on my own and with skilled partners. There are many layers of complexity and technique that can be added to the simplest drills. I felt challenged at the easiest levels. I highly recommend this class and this dojo.
