    Flow to Restore on Zoom

This was the BEST yoga guidance I’ve received in a very long time. Jennie was thoughtful, and insightful and completely human in how she led our practice. From the moment I set up on my mat to the moment we concluded I was on a yoga high.

Only critique is that the studio should put some shades up on the window. During downward dog or any pose where your head faces back of the room, your staring at bright sunlight pouring in. Not the easiest on the eyes. Class itself was great though.

Instructor was amazing! She was very easy to relate to and connect with! Some teachers can act overly zen to the point where it feels forced but not her, I appreciated that! She taught us at a nice pace, neither too fast nor too slow, and as someone extremely new to Yoga I felt comfortable and welcome!

Wonderful class! Felt refreshed and relaxed by the end, great workout. I appreciated Angelica showing us some of the postures, so I was able to follow more easily. I wish there was more hands on guidance on the harder poses like headstand and wheel. Loved the class regardless!

I wish there was a shower on site. The studio is nice and well appointed. Lyndsey is a good instructor; she corrects mistakes. I love corrections. The class was great, sans the guy in the front who selfishly commandeered too much real estate.

    Pilates (Mat / Open Level)

Merav gave a great class! It was a good mix of restorative work and Pilates strength training. I went in to class today super sore from kickboxing yesterday, feeling out muscularly out of sorts & as though I couldn’t stand up straight. Her clear instruction & expert sequencing brought me back life! I wouldn’t say she’s Classical Pilates but she’s not strictly contemporary either. Everything she taught made sense, was useful and productive.

This is a beautifully led class! The energy in the room is amazing with Leslie. It is more of a stretch/yin style class in my opinion rather than flow, but it was exactly what I needed. It did have some flow, just not as vigorous as some of the other classes here. Would definitely come back!

    Katonah Restorative

This class can be challenging in ways very different from a typical restorative class (which presents its challenge in stillness) and from a typical flow class (which presents a challenge in pushing through and also in the potential for injury that exists in most flow classes from poor alignment). Kyle has a wealth of knowledge. The adjustments here really help put your body in proper alignment. (Not that purposeless moving and arm an inch I find elsewhere). More than all of it though, what I love is that Kyle makes jokes (and he’s funny). A good reminder that yoga is about play and not merely “doing a workout” or “getting a good stretch.” This may not be what you expect yoga or restorative to be like, and that’s a good thing.

    Yin Yoga

Deb offered a lot of modifications for me (pregnant) and my mom (who has back pain). She was very nice and helpful and seemed quite knowledgeable about proper body movement (even more than the average yoga teacher). My own personal preference is that the music be more relaxing- sometimes there was some light dance music playing softly in the background- which I found more energizing than relaxing and more suited to regular yoga than yin yoga. But that’s just my two cents. Nice class!

    Stretch and Flow

This is a great class for those of us with an injury or just wanting a chill experience. I hurt my foot recently, and have had neck problems on and off again for years. I loved that our teacher showed us modifications for almost every pose and showed us how to use the blocks and blankets (most people don’t go into that much detail about the blocks). She came around and corrected people if their posture in the pose wasn’t correct. I found it relaxing.

    all level vinyasa,

Really nice relaxing, breathing class, you'll feel great after and maybe not understand why. This isn't a full-on crazy workout, but if you go to shambhala you'll know that's their style, and maybe you're just going here to recover from another crazy workout you just did yesterday. Although they might benefit from naming their classes better, this absolutely was not vinyasa which I'm fine with
