    DASH CORE

Elizabeth is one of the best coaches on Classpass. MRUC is all about perceived effort rather than numbers, which I love. Elizabeth was great at giving cues and and encouragement. Like most people, I didnt think that paying to run on a treadmill would be valuable, but now Im sold. Whether youre looking to add some more cardio into your workout regime, training for a race, or just looking to let go of your day to day stresses, you can find that here. I get the same type of meditative benefits as I do with spin class but with the added bonus of getting a really intense workout. The music is amazing as well. The only suggestion I have is more empowering music and less techno (which personally doesnt do anything for me). It was my first class but Im coming back for sure. Thanks Elizabeth!

The music at Switch was amazing. The theme was hip hop some from my college days ca. 2009 which was a good musical era. Jeff was cool, walking around and challenging us continuously. Other coaches were there to tell you what to do at your station. The locker rooms were also lovely with at least 5 showers, filtered water fountains and great shower products.

    Switch Playground Class

This might be the most entertaining class in NYC and perfect if you have workout ADD since its about 20 different stations for two minutes each. The trainers do a great job demonstrating the moves and keeping things moving. Youll sometimes lose a few seconds waiting for a demo but to avoid this, it helps to look at the station right after hours while you are at your own station so that you can anticipate whats next.

    Flywheel: Method 45

Izzi absolutely crushed it. As per usual. Music was unreal and her programming is second to none. However, I have 4 huge issues with flywheel that remain unresolved. First is the music is so loud. Like my ears were ringing and I’ve talked to them about this before but no one listens. Second is no more water bottles and no decrease in price. Peloton was water bottles... third is there were no bananas or apples today!! Wtf. And finally the bikes. The bikes are horrible. It’s not smooth and parts of clearly missing. If flywheel wants to compete with peloton they need to truly compete and peloton has all this stuff. Idk I’m worried for flywheels future tbh. And then where will I take izzis class

Matt had awesome music, great energy, and kept it positive. The only thing about the DASH 28 class is that the strength portion is too short to focus on all body sections, they should do different regions on different days of the week or per class to keep it focused.

Brooke is a friggin rockstar of an instructor - by far one of the best at physique, along the lines of Erin Bellis, Ashlea P + Jenn W. She’s absolutely relentless with her profiles, using the most of the hour to get in more sets / reps, with zero time wasted, quick transitions + concise cueing during position setup. Every position flows into the next one seamlessly + theres no way you won’t feel the burn during her class! The 1st section of Thighs alone covered round back chair into incline, to rocking chair, then flat back chair. Killer! Loved how she switched up the normal format and covered round back core work with the band before glutes. Wish I could take her more often. Newer instructors + those who teach a less intense Sig II desperately need to learn from her.

The class was really fun and Dorian has a great energy that makes the class even more enjoyable! However, there was a first-timer yogi in our class and I think for this newcomer it would've have been nice if he had offered some guidance or simple cues (eg straighten left leg) when introducing postures for the first time, instead of just saying the Sanskrit name with no explanation. Just to be safe that it isn't a discouraging experience for him

Love this class, but I have to comment on the locker room. Love that they have showers unlike their other locations and Malin and Goetz products. However, there have been a few times now where the products were empty in the showers and I had to wait naked, in a towel, in the coed locker room for them to refill. They also only have one hair dryer. For $20, it would be of significant value add to their clients. Final thing is I'd prefer if they gave out more than one towel. With a coed bathroom especially, where you need to dry off and change immediately after showering, one towel doesn't really do the trick.

First time here and think it is now my favorite of all boxing studios in NYC. At the beginning of the class, the instructor showed us how to do different boxing moves before we started on the bags, unlike other studios I have been to. ABS ARMS ASS (toning)

Really enjoyed the instructor. Challenging and great attitude. Space is still a construction zone. Not loving the concrete stairs. Edge is really sharp on your bare feet. Lots of uneven edges on sides of room be careful. Stair has no safety railing. Looks cool but when we were changing over classes and crowding on the stairs I felt like someone could tumble over easily. Might want to wear some shoes up until you get on the reformer. Glass door was missing panels so you could hear the music from the lobby which had crazy base and was totally different from the music in the room and it was really distracting. Maybe come back in a month once things are finished. Only one bathroom and two changing areas. Might want to consider changing and peeing at home. .

If youve never done HIIT training, and even if you have, this will be a shock to your system. It is high octane non-stop make you wish you didnt have whatever you had for lunch training. No rest. Heart rate stays up the whole time from one movement to the next. James makes it fun though. The staff is very friendly and professional. I do wish the beginning ladder was something more structured rather than everyone going at their own pace while performing the exercises on the board, which were like 12.

Ashley has great energy and is well organized. I like going at off peak hours because you get to keep the same treadmill through the whole class and can track your progress. 3 rounds of treadmill and 3 rounds of floor work (weights , pylometrics, bench). This location is nice, similar to others but newer. There are shower towels, small towels. They now use Oribe hand soap which Im not a fan of the fragrance. There are lockers in the locker room and hall. Only thing I wish they had was a water fountain that you could fill yourself. Annoyingly you have to ask the smoothie people to do it for you from the sink.

    TRAINxCARDIO

You will leave this class red-faced, sweaty and gasping for air, no matter what your fitness level. The class has a supportive community atmosphere and is never dull. Those who have CrossFit / rowing, andheavy HIIT training experience will fare better here than those who favor dance, running and barre classes like I do. But with this type of variable interval training, even the weak limbed and uncoordinated, will find at least one of twelve circuit stations where they excel!

Alex is a pretty intense instructor. Not in a bad way, but it's not typically Y7 style. She counts down (10, 9, 8...) for certain movements (like planks) which felt a little bootcamp-esque to me. No complaints though, it was a great workout.

    Power 45

Great, challenging class. Alex was super fun and friendly. The class was diverse and well structured along to really good music. Alex's instructions and tips were very precise, but I would have liked a few more personal adjustments. Other than that, I had a great time, definitely worked hard, and it flew by!

Karen has become my favorite Y7 instructor! Her flows arent overly complicated but definitely challenge you. Also the speed of her 1-breath-1-movement keeps you on your toes, and youre able to do the flow in the third round multiple times per side. I think Im gonna try and only take Karen from now on.

    FlyBarre: Power 45

One of my new favorite flybarre instructors! Zach is fun and welcoming. He tries to meet everyone and make people feel really comfortable. The class is definitely tough but not overwhelming. Greatmusuc too!! I was sore the day after but I loved it.

Full Body - Lower Focus (60 Minutes)

I was visiting NYC so I’ve never visited this location or taken a class with Casey before. But it was one of the best Barry’s classes I’ve ever taken. Casey’s instructions were very clear and demonstrated each move/exercise. The treadmill workouts were challenging. The floor exercises were lower body focused but we also had some upper body exercises in the mix as well. I highly recommend Casey’s classes to anyone who likes Barry’s Bootcamp.
